Aluminum Window Trim Before/After!
I noticed oxidation of the trim is a very common problem on these cars. Most YouTube videos recommended to replace the trim or wrap it. Some tried the Mothers polish with poor results.
So I wanted to share a product that works incredibly well, which I found on this forum! What you want is the Autosol Aluminum Polish (Made in Germany). It can be found on Amazon or through Eastwood's online store. More info can found in this thread. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...0#post26822760 I started off by hand and switched to a drill with a foam pad as my arm got tired, but you can definitely get the same results by hand. I think the pictures speak for themselves. |

I have oxidized trim though not as bad as in those pictures. Thanks for sharing! I've heard of that product on these forums in the past and it's good to see more results.
I have also read that the metal trim is painted with a clear coat however. I'm still concerned that a metal polish may be too aggressive, and was thinking of first trying a standard paint compoind and polish paste first. |

you need an actual aluminum sealant. or to clear them. Raw aluminum does not survive car washes. I can tell you that much. Next summer I'm going to use sharkhide on my wheels. It's pricey, but seems to work. |
