Gloss Black window trim, places?

I was thinking about getting the window trim blacked out from chrome. I wanted to know where you guys did it and how much it cost you guys?

I did mine myself. Bought 2 rolls of gloss black 2x25 from Mdecal. Definitely there is a learning curve for stretching using the heat gun for around the bends but you get the hang of it very quickly. It's a fun DIY job.

Metrorestyling.com sells sheets, and shadowlinetrim.com sells rolls. I've used both. The shadowline trim held up well for years and the other is new. Both stretched well.

I plasti dipped mine first. Redid the lower sections a few times as they can be difficult. The tops are easy...unsnap them from the car and spray or wrap on the ground.

I then got sick of the imperfections in the plasti dip and got some shadowline vinyl wrap. Ended up with the same issues and even bent up the lower driver trim

Got so sick of the bend and poor wrap that I broke down and ordered the OEM matt trim set from Tischer. Glad I did it but damn it was expensive and they charged like $125 for shipping as a flat rate item. I was pissed until it got to my house and I realized how awkward it is to pack and ship while preventing it from being destroyed or bent in half.

All in all I am happy I have the OEM. Perfect.

It is a fun DIY to plasti dip and mess around with it. Definitely take the side mirrors off and be careful if you decide to pull up the lower trim pieces....they can bend and you won't be able to correct it. Trust me.

Vinyl'ing isn't very simple. I've used vinyl on my interior trim a few times now and the window trim is another animal.

I went back to plastidip. Watch the Youtube video and the DIY here and you'll be set. If you want gloss, get the "glossifier" as well.

Thanks for the input guys! DIY sounds like a lot of work especially because I live in downtown chicago and don't have a place to do it. Anyone know any shops that specialize in this?
