So hello guys, girls, daily drivers, track day people and just overall bmw lovers I need some feed back from you all.First of all I'm going to try and keep this short and thanks in advance to the good and bad feedback from each and everyone that gives their opinion
I have a 2009 bmw 335i sedan with almost 200k miles that runs flawlessly I mean other that a couple scratches and a fog light bulb out there is absolutely nothing else wrong (at the moment) with the car Ok some info isn't a 6 speed manual car Turner Motorsport shifter kit Upgraded turbo I don't remember the brand. Charge pipe bov Bilstein b8 or b12 I can look it up Completely new ac system All m3 interior trim (carbon leather) New water pump Valve cover done Oil pan gasket done Catless downpipe Like all the stuff that needs to be changed are done the list goes on and on Upgrade gas pump and regulator Car has nav also So the question is how much is a good asking price I like the car I drive it 100 miles each day to work on i95 so that where the miles came from Never race the car kinda not that young anymore haha anyway people tell me what you think I have no problem keeping it as my friend is a super good indi shop owner also but would like to try something else and see that it goes into good hands. |

Ask for 6 and you'll get 5 easy make sure to point out it has highway miles and add all the work done in the description with some nice pics. With that much stuff done to it I wouldn't even bother selling I'd just keep it you know it's in good shape but the guy buying a 200k mile 335 doesn't so he's gonna go low

Ya I was thinking of asking 7k like if it wasn't such a long commute I would not even consider anything lower than 10k but keeping it may not be a bad idea thanks for your input!

I'll be honest with you, I wouldn't sell it. For 5k (with all the stuff done to it), the next guy will get a steal for that. I would keep it, and enjoy it more.

I see cars with way less options that don't even look as good out there getting sold for a lot more than ten
Hey what the big difference E46 m3 and e90 335i Why is the e46 more valuable like by far I think they almost the same as a matter of fact I think the the 335i is a better car when you put some work in it |

Yes, it's always tough selling a car with high miles, but full maintenance done. Most people looking at high mileage cars would rather buy a beat up one for $2k and spend $5k and years of DIY on maintenance than buying your turn key well-kept one for $7k. It's just how it goes.
I sold my last car with 190k miles, but thankfully, it went to an enthusiast who appreciated all the $ spent on maintenance. Obviously, I didn't get my money back, but didn't get a lowball because of miles. If you love the car, keep it. If you have your eye on something else, than sell it and move on to the next toy and enjoy the drive! Cheers. |

I guess YouTube made this car seem like a bad car but it isn't really that bad if you stay on the right path My care still has the stock clutch and it literally feels like new |

Don't worry about it as much
You're right, YouTube does make it seem like a bad car and it really is for folks who aren't mechanically inclined But to someone who knows how to change a spark plug at least, or willing to learn, will have no issues with the mileage and a price of $5k (I myself work on my N54 all day but wouldn't spend more then $5k on a 200k mileage car, as in my area there's 60-70k E90's selling for $8-9k) Just post it up for sale with all the maintenance you've done, and mentioning why mileage is high (aka highway miles) and the right buyer will come Remember that you don't have to sell it if the price isn't right to you as you know what you have better then anyone else. I myself would be skeptical if someone is selling a car like yours for dumb cheap as you know something is wrong. Just out of curiosity, why not keep it? My car is approaching 135k and I wouldn't sell it as it wouldn't be worth it, spent too much money maintaining it and upgrading it. Also FCPeuro is making it cheaper and cheaper for me over the years with the lifetime warranty |

On a used n54 any kind of turbo replacement maintenance history automatically is a good sign lol

I would keep it, you won't get much for it. You know what was done to it, but to other people it is still an 11 year old N54 car with 200k miles. Yes, the maintenance certainly helps, but it just won't hold it's value like an M car.

This. Look at it this way: aside from Alfa and Cadillac, no auto manufacturer makes a fun-to-drive car in this segment anymore (and neither of those have a L6). It’s worth it to keep it.

If you don't need to sell it, I would just keep it. You're not going to get top dollar just because of the miles and age, even if in reality the car is just fine. What better car are you going to get for $5000? A used Kia?

What do you think it's worth because look now a 335i with 55k miles is literally a bmw with none of its fault taken care of so please tell me what it's worth ?Just Incase I run into one. Plus if you have the time we can actually sit and calculate what a low mileage 335i is going to cost you |

200k miles that's a over 321k km. That's a high mileage car that is notoriously known to be the least reliable in BMW stable.
Your best bet is a tuner/mechanic looking to mod an n54 as a street beater therefore mileage is not an issue. Or just drive it to the ground. Based on past 'Looking to buy a 335i' threads.... if someone were to start a thread here asking for advice on how much to pay for a 200k miles 335i with mods, the replies would likely be "walk away" or low ball offers. |
