Assume both sub 20k miles, similar like new condition. I’m weighing both and am leaning toward the GT3 although the MB is never, roomier, but the GT3 just feels more special and I think in the long run will keep value better. I’d appreciate you input. Neither would be used as a daily driver.

Tough choice but I would go with the Porsche. Appreciation potential, likely better build quality, and avoidance of Mercedes' well known build quality and reliability problems.

You obviously can't go wrong with either choice. But to me just the way the GT3 drives and FEELS, its hard to really put into words, there's this rawness to it that is so special, yet is still so plush with it's alcantara bits.
As cars get more and more electrical and computerized, the pure driving experience like this one gets to be more and more of a fond memory, a relic of the past. It's a classic and you know that you're driving someone's dream car. There will always be faster and nicer cars, but there aren't many that are intoxicating to drive the way the GT3 is. GT3 all the way for me. Last edited by apar; 02-06-2021 at 11:22 PM.. |

Depends on what you are looking for?
GTR looks more exotic, more of a cruiser, lots of low end torque. GT3 is much more of a driver's car, better handling, throttle response, sound. If you're looking for engaging visceral drives, GT3. if you want to cruise and look cool, GTR. |

What are you paying for the GT3?
While I would prefer the GT3 no doubt, I would ask myself if I would pay 120K for a car that someone paid 145k for 6 years earlier... that's a lot of money for an old car. Just my 2 cents. |

Guys the AMG GTR is not a cruiser, a touring or a car built for comfort. It's Mercedes's track focused model, and actually goes around a track faster than a GT3. It's also enormously visceral, mainly because of that crazy engine and the chassis.
Comparing the two, it will come down to which car looks, drives and sounds better to you. Both sound great but totally different. Both enormously high performance but the FR, longhooded Merc will rotate and turn very differently from the rear engined Porsche. You'll just have to see what you prefer. |

I like the looks of the AMG GTR more but would still get the GT3.

I’ve driven both and really like both but pulling the trigger is tough. Noticing Turbo S cars now too (other post). I think the GT3 will lose less money and may even remain somewhat steady based on reading I’ve done. This makes my wife most happy...

GT3, but honestly would much prefer a manual over the PDK.

That's where Porsche screwed the .1 (2015 in OP's case) and rewarded the .2 owners.
