I don't mind saying how much I paid for the tint -- I've posted it here before. And maybe when others see how much I paid, they'll recommend some cheaper alternatives. I forget the exact amount, but it was just under $400 (like $392 or $388 or something). Expensive, but the FormulaONE Pinnacle costs a lot. I think you're looking at at least $300 most places. And FWIW, I was not price sensitive at all because I was using a Visa gift card that I'd had forever and barely used, and was about to expire in like a week. The total cost to me was less than $20.

I just had my windows done by LA Tint in Sterling last Monday. They did my previous two cars and I'd refer them to anyone. I can vouch for their 90 minute labor time. Bring something to entertain yourself with because there's no wifi access and the magazines are old.
I had 38% metallic tint done for $289, but ceramic tint is available at $349. Was told these prices are a winter promotion discount. Ceramic has a lil' more matte charcoal appearance, and interferes less with antenna reception (i.e. GPS, radio, XM, etc), but it shouldn't be an issue for 3-series with the roof-mounted sharkfin. |

Yeah, I forgot about the proximity key feature. It's a good idea for those with Comfort Access to get ceramic then. It's one option I definitely miss from my Infiniti

Well, I'll be going on the 18th, even if that means that I have to go on my own....
Gee, at some point I need to slow down (roughly 7300 mi the first 6 weeks!) - maybe a 20K lease wasn't enough miles.... (but what I've been averaging the last several years.)

I still say AJ's E92 is T minus 3 days away, but maybe he'll get lucky and get it in a day or two. Will his car have summer tires on it? If he gets it by, say Wednesday, are you guys planning on going on Saturday? And if you go Saturday, are you still planning on going the following weekend?

7300 miles in 6 weeks is pretty crazy. But these cars make you want to drive and drive some more. I've said it before, but I've averaged ~250-300 miles/month the past couple of years. With my E90, I'm averaging 1000 miles/month.

Well, toss in that I left to see family in Florida, then Missouri with 2200 miles on the clock (btw - 5 trips from Norfolk to DCish is 480mi round trip); then 4000 miles-ish on that family run.
Once I go back to work it will slow down... .... maybe!

So far the event is a go for this weekend. Unfortunately, I have had a family member take a turn for the worst health wise. So I might be driving up to Pittsburgh for this weekend.
Im hoping all turns out well, but as of right now, Im heading up there for the weekend. I still should be able to do the following weekend. Just because Im not there, doesnt mean it cant happen... |

Tires are fine, although it allowed me to get them rotated at Passport when I got back. I can tell the difference in them between the 65-80deg weather when I left and in FL from the sub-freezing weather in MO and here. The colder weather they don't feel nearly as connected, although I haven't had any traction issues.
edit: if the above by you was tongue in cheek, then feel free to dis(regard, or just dis in general) the above remark.

Sorry, it kinda goes with my job. If you analyze properly, weather is actually simple.

By the way... my CA was dead on about the 72 hours ordeal. He said the car arrived Saturday night, which was within that deadline...
I walked the lot Sunday when I got back into town, and did not see it. But it was back in the corner of their to be delivered cars. ... I can not wait!!!! |
