Ok so officially a little scared. Clicked the .bat file and now the tranny is locked up. Should I just try again or try running the stock GM1912.bat file? The "Wrong Project" making me think twice.

Bimmergeeks cable, constant charger on the battery, and I definitely replaced the filter on the GA6L45R (so its the GM). Start position (2 presses) without starting the vehicle while coding. Accessories off.

[UPDATE: Tried running the stock batch file and that failed...see added image on bottom]
Help?

Did you verify that you have a GM trans and the latest program installed?

I definitely replaced the GM transmission filter, so I have that. At this point, how do I check again in INPA or...how do I use WINKFP to get back to stock?

Per my edit, tried using the "stock files" provided in BL, but that creates the errors in the last picture

This is odd I didn't get any of that. My car however failed to flash a couple times before it did fine. Basically inpa errors and winkfp errors aswell as the process getting frozen and having to cancel it

Try again disconnect everything and plug everything back in. One thing I read online some guy had to do the flash 30 seconds right after pluggin in the cable to the obd2 because he was getting some fault so that might work for you, something to do with the red light on the cable

Check the idenfication of the egs.

When you say stock file, do you mean the program or the calibration?

Wrong project basically means the program doesn't match the calibration. It's like installing a Windows program on a Mac. They have to match.

I just did this and locked up trans as well. Can't shift out of Park, DSC/4x40MIL all lit in dash.

Have a 328xi LCI, confirmed its a GM trans, has the metal sump pan and FindECu shows ZB# as GM1912. (7634248)

I'm using the bimmergeeks cable and *.bat download from bimmerlabs, version for GM912_A7587777_3.0SI.

I don't have much experience with winkfp, so i used my Autel Maxisys to flash the TCU back to latest calibration which is still 7634248.

Should I have flashed another version zb before attempting to flash the 330 GM1912 software?

(Engine DME is stock for now)

You have to make sure the program matches the calibration. It's locked up because the calibration isn't compatible with that program, so the flash aborted.

Same as Irish (7634248) (see attached)

I first used the .bat file from the GM1912_A7587777_3.0SI.0da

That got the first error. Thinking that it would help, I hit the GM1912.bat from the HW7568553A.0pa.zip — that gave me the last screen shot on my previous posts with the security error and whatnot.

So looks like this was my mistake. Do I have options from here? Whether is just getting back to what I had or going for it again?

Is there a compatible version for 7634248 that you could do?

Flash the GM1912 program, then flash the calibration. I just looked and that ZB number is really old, it doesn't even show up in the ETK or my daten files.

I should probably just make the program list for everyone.

Edit: just did.

An alternative is to use comfort mode and let it flash the stock file for you, if you can't get it to work. But I don't see why it shouldn't.

So even with this error on the program, I should try and reflash again?

...and then do the calibration?

See, mine didn't even give that error..

Mine showed(copy/paste last few lines):

Data and/or program and/or NAAB file set.
INFO000=Error: Error: Wrong Project DS: 9RZ0S, ECU 9T32S
Data will be programmed.
ERG=Programming ok
Batch mode ended
Press any key to continue...

That was for the program flash. My calibrations flash results reported like yours (see my other post above with the failed screen)

So wait what is going on since I don't know jack crap about flashing much. Really want to get the possibility of this error out of the way because I'm going to be flashing a buddy's 328 coupe likely next weekend and want it to go smoothly as it did for my car.

Is this a problem with not all GM trannys being the same or compatible with the zb file or is it dependent on what calibration was last flashed on to the car or transmission?

Hmm. It might not work at all for that case. It seems like there's possibly different EGS versions. Normally, you can flash any 0pa for a given hardware. I'll need to look into it, maybe we need a different file to use with it.

Meanwhile, you should still be able to flash back to stock in comfort mode though. I know it seems scary since you guys had an issue, but the boot sector should still be good (it doesn't get erased), so flashing will still work. I'll look up that project number too.

UPDATE: Crisis averted and flashed/updated EGS back to stock. Well, actually updated based on Daten 67.1. So we're driving again.

Thanks hassmaschine and irish07 for navigating me through (and telling me it was gonna be "ok" haha).

Actually didn't work at first and I thought awful thoughts...updated WinKFP with the Datens again (imported and rewrote GDATEN files), and it finally took. All codes currently gone and shifter works again.

Part of me wonders if I should start updating all the modules now....

Ok, great!

I think I will unpublish the files for today until I have time to look at it further.

Could you post a screenshot of the EGS identification in INPA?

I have this one before everything went wrong. I'll add a current pull from the UIF in a little bit

UPDATED hassmaschine: Attached current one, and EGS was updated to ZB# 7634252

I also did comfort mode v67 daten flash and then had no issue with the calibration file, but I also had no issue with it on the prio program either.

I do have an old UIF scan from inpa, and I'll get another one today with whatever it is currently that seems to work fine.

so the scan from 7/12 shows ZB 7585087

and so does my current one because apparently I don't know how to use winkfp to update a module properly..........

so it for sure works with that program number.

Yeah, actually it could be that the file they had was so old, the new update wouldn't work. I know the ZB they posted doesn't show up in any of the dates or ETK that I have, so it must have been factory.
