BTW, I'm not really sure it plays true DVD-A discs. There's nothing about that on the JVC website, though it will play DVD data discs loaded with MP3's or WMA files, which means 4.6 gigabyte's of storage on one playable DVD disc. Even without true DVD-A, that is an awesome headunit.

I dont know what a dvd-a is. I burned a dvd full of music and it played. And I put a dvd movie in and the movie played. But yeah, its an awesome unit which is why I bought it for my GTI!
taxvictim - I would never change out the headunit in the bmw. I like the way the stock works and looks.

DVD-A is a high-resolution audio format. 96/24 vs. the 44/16 of regular CD's. (Not that I really understand those numbers, but it takes a pretty powerful processor to decode and play.)
