Have question about buying a BMW...

I'm planning get a E90 or E92 330i or 328xi...

I have see some 330i for sale and waiting for people respond me back....

One on Craigslist, Black 2006 330i with sport package and navigation. It have ZF transmission.. It Black/Black with 19' M3 rims. It have 180,000 miles and clean title... The price not sure since waiting on people respond..

The one I saw at dealership and need a lot work, It a non-sport 2006 grey 330i with ZF transmission. It have clean title with airbag blow, missing navigation system (replaced to aftermarket radio), door trim peeling off, check engine light on and run roughing with 123k on it. They asking for $5,995.

I talked one of owner who have a 2007 BMW 328xi with almost 170,000 miles... Service at BMW dealership, Last service is oil changed, brakes, rotor, and transmission service too... Pass state inspection... It black outside with black leather sport seat. Also it have Alium Bushing dash trim with Navigation system. Car look brand new and well care. Have service paper, owner manual book, and 2 keys... Many people complaint about GM transmission. That BMW transmission shift smooth. My cousin have 2008 328i and 2010 128i with GM and I don't see anything wrong with it... I would love have 330i but it rare! I have researched about install 330I intake manifold and software to get tunes as same HP from 330i...

I love to have sport package build in, of course 328xi have sport package in but non-sport suspension. I looking for less for $8,000...

I need your suggest and opinion.. Thanks!

Damn man to be honest, if your in the market for a car less than 8 grand it shouldn't be an e9x. You should save more money until you can get an 2008+ with lower mileage because the early models tend to have more issues because those were the first batch released. Your 8k investment could easily turn into a maintenance nightmare.

But if your going to go ahead and do it anyways, sport pkg is a worth it for the seats alone. The ZF transmission can handle a bit more tq than the GM transmissions. If you get into an e92, the car comes standard with sport suspension unlike the e90, which needs to have msport pkg.

But seriously, save your money.

Okay man... I not looking for 335i... Not interesting with turbo engine... I love to have 330i, Mileage not bother me... I work on VW and Audi... I had work on few BMW before and owned 2 BMW which it totaled... I have current car which is diesel Jetta wagon with 230,000 miles and I did all the work myself... My old previous 00' beetle tdi with 335,000 and run great!

I more comfortable with 07 328xi that for sale. They selling for 6,500 which is good deal and service at BMW dealership.

I'm not trying be hard head or not taking your words... I just want see positive about those car... I have been waiting for least 3 or 4 years to get e90. I know e90 famous head bolt and water pump but I can fix that since I have tools... 3 years ago I almost brought a 06 330i and I took test drive and found out need water pump because not function, dealership sent back to auction so I didn't get it. I can't have car payment dues silly insurance. The reason why I want to buy a BMW because my last 2 BMW been great car since I ownership and Jetta wagon getting ready for have 6 speed conversion, head gasket, clean engine bay, body work, all new suspension, brake upgrade, heater core, and other few thing at same time. I already see a 06 325i with 323,000 miles on original engine and great care...

I wasn't suggesting a 335 but although the your handy with a wrench and confident that you can resolve any issues that may come up, you'll still be investing a lot of time into the car. If your really looking to get into a BMW I suggest an e46 330. Most of them will cost about the same but come with more options than an e90 at that price, lower mileage, and it's sportier.

I more attraction on E90 than E46. I would never buy E46.... Their design is not my favorite looking... E90 made look so beast! Also I have a friend who is BMW mech for 30 and plus years...

Shit well if you have your mind set on getting into an e9x then whatever. Just make sure it has sport package at the very least. Many people say you can do without the iDrive system because the CCC system BMW used in those models weren't very great.imo get a 330 because of tranny and so you don't have to modify an n51/n52 engine to get to those specs.

The 330i and 325i are first year models and have the most issues of all the N/A models - that said, if you find one that drives well and has good documentation, the problems have probably been sorted. Go for it.

Otherwise, buy the newest and cleanest you can, and good luck.

you can do sport suspension easily.. the only big thing is if it's an xdrive or not.

as far as zf transmission, you probably could but I feel like it would be a pain in the butt.

Cool! Which suspension should I look at? More likely a 330i? If I buy a 330i then no worries.

I mean if you want OEM look at ZSP I springs (found here on the forum). If you want lower, look at bmw performance yellow springs.

its more involved than that, its a lot to explain.. ask the xi section they will have a better answer. Long story short, ZSP springs have the smallest lowering rate and will be easiest on your x drive shocks. if you get aftermarket springs, you should replace the springs too.

If the car your buying has high mileage, then I consider replacing the whole suspension not just the springs. Anyways good luck with your hunt!
