Do you not have a DP that already causes a CEL? I would imagine it would cause the same CEL the JB4 does for boost.

I'm considering getting this for my stock turbo to see if it helps. The N54 guys needed better DV/BOV when running more boost, so why not use.

Yes I do, but what I'm asking will it pop up? I don't want to keep resetting it with the Cobb. I'll just email them since no one has a straight answer.

No CEL issues. I have been running it for a while now. This past weekend I drove to College Station and it is possible I accidently slightly exceeded the 75 mph speed limit for a few seconds during the drive. I had no problems.

I've bought a DV+ for my M235i but didn't have time to install it yet.

Is it possible to install (mainly) from the upper part without removing water pump?

To my mind if you remove turbo inlet pipe and turbo to intercooler charge pipe it should be OK...

I hope so

It wasn't too difficult on the 335i, especially as I had access to a lift - I could get at it from underneath.

I installed GFB DV+ on my M235i one week after HJS EU6 catted downpipe installation.

Very happy with it. On-Off-On is now stellar.

No CEL, no soft error, no odd motor behaviour.

Very nice product.

Great! I too have noticed that the throttle response is much better with the DV+.

I'm on JB4 map 7 running E50 and the stock diverter valve couldn't keep up during shifts. It was leaking boost, sometimes up to 9psi leaking for an entire gear until you'd shift again.

This was diagnosed by seeing PWM maxed out in the JB4 logs.

After switching to GFB DV+, the problem is gone... quite happy with it!

That's good to hear. We had a few customers question our remarks about the stock DV being weak/ leaking. It truly is a weak link and this post justifies it further.

I think anyone with a tune really needs to consider the GFB Diverter valve upgrade at some point.

I am about to have my catless dp put back in since I recently took care of some warranty work. A couple questions regarding the install on this DV+:

1) Could it be installed with the downpipe out and not having to remove waterpump?

2) Are the bolts for the "newer" revision of the waterpump (continental?) still aluminum?/need to be replaced?

Thanks, considering just getting this put in for some reliability. I'm FBO stock turbo +meth, figured why not since its down there and quite inexpensive.

http://www.gfb.com.au/tech/installation#

Check the installation instructions - its #9536. It comes with longer bolts. Basically you keep part of the old mechanism and replace a part of it with the DV+. If you have the car on a lift, its fairly straightforward and easily accessible.

DV+ Noise on shifts or throttle lift

Installed the DV+ on my stage 1 and have been happy with the ability to hold boost. I did install with the spring.

It is mentioned in the install instructions from GFB so Im not alarmed but have any of you who did install with the spring noticed the different sound between shifts or when letting off throttle from a decent load?

First time I heard it I was really concerned until I read about the noise in the install instructions but its a crazy noise!

It's normal, it's like a fluttery sound if I'm not mistaken. I had one on my old car, sounded pretty cool IMO.

Does not sound like typical turbo "flutter" from inside the car at least but it does have a hint of flutter. Its almost like a low pitch honking noise combined with the sound of a little flutter. Hard to describe.

Can't hear it at higher RPMs due to the glorious sound of the catless N55.
