So I cleaned the crap out of the MAF sensor but no dice. At first, when first removed, it didn't look dirty but I cleaned it anyway. I left it to dry and reinstalled. Started the car and drove off but it still responded the same way, sluggish and stuttering when i applied the gas. The CEL light went on so I drove it to my buddy's garage. After hooking up the scanner, it showed a 2 PENDING codes; misfire in cyc2 and 3. Possibly the coils. He told me that PENDING means its not a full blown code...yet...but it'll get there someday soon.
Since possibly 2 coils could be bad, should I just replace all of them as well as plug and call it a day? I know its spending more money then I have to but just knowing that all of the coils/plugs are new is worth the piece of mind. Thoughts?

Check the coils for signs of needing replacement. Where the co meets the plug check for white "staining" looks like imagine smoke coming off a cigarette. Also look where the top of the coil meets the shaft for the same staining. This will necessitate cool replacement.

So I'm going with the Bosch sparkplugs and Delhi Coils. All together the cost was $245.22 (free ship). I should get it on Monday or so. When I'll do a visial inspection of the plugs and coils as I replace them and post up pics. Ken, thanks for the tell tale signs to look for. I suspect at least two of the plugs/coils will show the signs as previousl;y mentioned, I had two PENDING misfire codes.

So the new plugs and coils should be delivered today. Does anyone know if I need that special thin wall socket to get the plugs out or would a regular socket work. I read somewhere that the turbo models require the thin wall socket but not the NA. Can someone confirm? Don't want to be in the middle of changing it out and come to find out that I need one...I'd be

So I replaced the plugs and coils and that fixed it. I also replaced the battery since I every time I start the car, it sounds like its struggling. The last thing I want is the battery dying on me when its 0 degrees outside.
