Can you put race gas in a stock n55??
I was at a Delta gas station in Butler, NJ this weekend and noticed that they had race fuel 100 octane (CAM2 racing gasoline but there was also a sunoco race fuels sticker underneath it. Friggin crazy how expensive a gallon of it is lol. I was just wondering:
1. whether anyone with an n55 has/would put this in an empty tank to fill up with 2. is it actually okay to put this in an empty tank on a completely stock n55 or would it require some hard modifications to withstand the octane level? Or can it at least be put in as an "additive"? For example, I strictly pump Shell V-Power 93 octane in my e92 n55 and I was wondering if it is okay to add the CAM2 fuel to fill up a 3/4 tank of shell v-power 93... After searching for an existing thread regarding this topic, all i was able to find was the following one regarding CAM2 fuel but that's with engine mods. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ght=100+octane

sweet..can't tell whether it was unleaded considering it isn't noted on the sticker anywhere.
by the way, i noticed you drive a '96 328i with n55 engine...sick bro. That's gotta be one quick ass machine as light as E36's are. Got any pics? I'd love to see what you did with it.

Ye you can put it in and you might feel a slight increase in power, overall, not worth it.
Cam2 makes a 100 and 104 octane unleaded IIRC. |

You can if unleaded but you are wasting your money it won't be worth unless the car was tuned for it.

How about you get a JB4 and then you can use race fuel and take advantage of it

1. i don't wanna void warranty as i have a CPO 2. i'm too lazy to take it on and off each time the car needs to be serviced - only looking for a little extra oomph anyway

You can get a PPK, Dinan or Cobb tune.

Yup. I mentioned a few posts earlier that I'm going to be getting a PPK so I can keep my warranty
Just an FYI about Cobb - assuming you didn't already know this - if you forget to take the cobb tune off before bringing the car in for service and the dealer does work that detects the tune, your warranty is completely voided from what I understand (correct me if I'm wrong) so I wouldn't use it if I'm concerned about my warranty.
