V2 related "check engine light"?
Here's the story; I brought the car in at the dealer because it was acting weird and a check engine light appeared; the car would "buck"at idle and the RPM would rise from 600 to about 750-800; now this was the morning after I was doing some datalog runs and a half engine sign appeared (turned off the engine and the half engine light disappeared); the mechanic at the dealer told me that he pulled a lot of codes, particularly misfires and detonation with fuel cut; this morning when I started the car (cold start) I got another check engine light so I borrowed a code reader and I got P302 (cylinder 2 misfire) at idle. I'm thinking it might be a coil, spark plug, or it's V2 related. Anybody? Shiv?
PS: I was at 94%, 91 octane, dual cone filters, and UR catted DPs when the half engine light appeared; and at 90% when the P302 at idle appeared. Also, I checked for any vaccum leak and everything seems to be intact. |

Torque values don't have any correlation.
During datalog testing, I've run my settings as high as 94.1x% on 91 Octane with no other mods, saw peak boost of only 14.4 psi and no codes over a dozen or more datalogs and nearly a thousand miles of driving at those settings. I'm now down to 92-93% as I found I actually had a bit better boost curve with settings that weren't as high. Peak boost now is 14.5 psi Each car is different, if his boost does not exceed 15 psi at 94% it shouldn't matter. Did you have your v2 on before the UR DP's were put on? If so, did you have any codes then? I'd think your aftermarket DP's may be the issue if not. |

If you are getting codes at idle, I would suggest it is a bad plug or coil on that cylinder. The first thing you can try is switching the coils between cylinder 2 and 3. If the misfire goes to cylinder 3, you know it is the coil causing the issue. If it stays on cylinder 2, change out the plug, and then reassess the situation.

I had V1 and UR DPs before, and no codes were thrown; it's after I installed th V2.

Nope; I'm running the speed limit map as you suggested because I was having cold start problems with the old green loom on.

It is not ignition coil issue. you might wanna ask your bmw tech to write down the BMW code. this way i can help you out. or you can give me the last 7 digit of your vin. |

I have the same issue in the past. when you set your torque percentage on pump gas is 90 percentage. Otherwise, you will get Misfire code. .. Dont worry it is normal for v2 procede.. On the pump gas, it wont handle 94% percent on the torque range. 94 % is for race gas . 93 octane or higher. you can mixed your pump gas with race gas. Than you can set it at 94% percentage. |
