e90 vs. e92 Suspension
Hey Guys,
Quick question... I have recently been noticing e92's with 19" wheels that look lowered (as low as h&r sport springs), I assume they have the sport package. I was wondering why the e90 with sport package does not appear to be as low? Also does anyone know if you can order an e90 with this lower suspension from e92? Thanks Pic for views... |

It's just the extra weight of that Recaro seat...

The E92 comes standard with sport suspension and due to its design it does sit lower than an E90. It's not surprising when you consider that one is a sport coupe while the other is a sedan.

The E92 simply sits lower than the E90 due to its design. Again it could be the fenders, wheels/mounts, etc. But as far as I know the suspensions are the same. Also for the gap, it really depends because the gap on my E90 is about an inch too. With 2 passengers in the back you can't even stick more than one finger in there.

the zsp springs and shocks/struts are all interchangeable, but there are differences in height depending on if it's a 325/328 or a 335, and also if it's a coupe or sedan. I have E92 335i zsp springs/shocks on my E90 325i, and they fit fine, though the back is a bit lower than the front. This could be due to the extra weight they need to support on the 335i, or maybe just how the E92 is designed. Probably a combination of both.
so yes, they all will fit, but if you want the drop to look perfect, try to stick with the same body style and model. |

I put E92 sports suspension on my E90 and it lowered the rear noticeably but not the front. I have a solid three finger gap up front and it looks a little silly to me.

Sorry to prolly beat up a dead horse, and once again reviving a zombie thread but I cant find consensus (excuse me if its poor searching on my behalf).
I have a E90 330d with M pack (suspension also), but am planning to get a 335i. Entrance to my buildings garage is slanted as the street has an incline, and my E90 can clear the ramp but not without care and an angle. You guys say the E92 comes standard with sport so its lower. But is it lower than a regular E90, or another E90 with sport suspension? thanks

Here in the UK (and maybe even Europe) E92 does not come standard with sports/m-sport suspension. My E92 330d is a SE model with C7 springs and non-sport shocks at the front and C2 springs and non-sport shocks at the rear. C Springs are for standard suspension models and D Springs are for sports/m-sport suspension models...
My E92 Sits 1" higher at the front compared to the rear. I think all E90/92/93 have this set-up... could be wrong. Only 335d E92 comes with M-Sport suspension as standard. |
