8 Star Pattern
I've run into an issue where I can't seem to find an 8 star pattern socket bit for my 3/8in torque wrench. I've tried to see if I can make do with a Torx socket bit but it fits right in between a T30 and a T40.
Anyone know where to find an 8 star pattern socket bit? Background Story: I'm trying to reseal my 3 piece wheels that have been collecting dust in my garage for a couple years but now that my e90 isn't my daily drive, I want to put these wheels back on. The company of these wheels are no longer in business so I have no way of knowing anything. I'm going to toss these old p.o.s. bolts after |

it's like that, but think of it this way. It's the socket that's on my wheel. So i would need a bit
Called a double square bit but extremely hard to find. I've heard people just using a square bit to take it out https://answers.yahoo.com/question/i...=1006053104431 |

I'll try to give you an idea of how big this is. The size of the bit needs to fall in between a T30 and a T40 Torx bit (6 star pattern). I've even tried to look in those 45 drill bit sets for square bits and the biggest one won't do any justice.
Here's a pic of the wheel itself and what I'm trying to remove. Quote:

Try searching for "Double Square Broach" or "Rotary Broach" and go from there.
Although they are designed as cutters, you might find a size you can use. No idea what they'll cost you. And yours looks like it is LOBED not a straight double-square. In which case, go with a "Square Broach" and get a size which will squeeze in there. eg: http://www.slatertools.com/rotary-br...e#.U_8orLAU9dI You got a tough one there! |

Try calling the wheel manufacturer and asking them? I'm sure they would know what the proper tool and size you'd need. Or call up a wheel repair shop they'd probably know also.
