The alarm system looks so easy to install and my car is prepped for it. Now I just need the parts…

It's all legal bullshit that does nothing for the customer. Look at all the airbag recalls. "Your car may send shrapnel through your body and kill you so don't drive it, oh and good luck getting to work". My mom owns a Honda, what a nightmare that was dealing with them.

Nope, don't install an alarm, they are useless. All they do is cause more headaches for the owner. If it makes you feel better put a little blinking red light on your dash, it will provide about the same level of deterrent. Car alarms are so common now nobody even questions it when one goes off.

I agree that no one looks over when an alarm goes off, more like “will you turn that alarm off!”
I don’t need it, I just want it.
What problems come with the alarm? The car is pre wired, I would just add the module, Siren and hood switch.

I’ve looked at the red blinking light DIY. I’m not familiar with circuit boards so it looks complicated.
Will the factory alarm include making the red light blink?

Its soo easy. I got it done in less than an hour. Everything is plug and play, I didn't have to code mine in but I did it anyways just to be safe.

No downsides of the alarm at all. I only got it for the blinking light and the beep when it locks/unlocks. I added a vibration sensor that was nice.. until it drove me insane. Had it tapped into the ultrasonic sensor inside and itd go off when the sunroof closed after ai locked it or if a car had too much bass rolling by. Or any heavy equipment. It was incredibly sensitive. Just disconnected it and have been running it stock ever since

Installed a few parts today…
Bilstein B14 (updated version)
M3 front arms
Dinan fixed camber plates
HD tie rods
HD end links

Overall took about 4.5 hours to do. I messed up and installed the camber plates incorrectly, so that's what we get to do tonight
The car is walking all funny, but I've got an alignment scheduled for tomorrow morning. It's an indy shop so I'm having them install my new ignition kit (Bosch/Delphi) and power steering reservoir+flush as well.

I've had a 2BDE shadow code for a long time, and I started noticing dried white residue around the fuel cap. Ordered the updated fuel cap (blue seal instead of green) from FCPEuro and am interested to see if that maybe takes care of the code. I don't have high hopes, but at 100k mi, the fuel cap was experiencing leaks anyway so why not.

Back to the suspension, the geometry is all messed up because of how low the B14's sit even on max height. I'm thinking of either swapping the springs to Swift linears or buying adjustable end links/tie rods. Any input on this matter would be appreciated as I am searching for the most practical and cost-effective solution for a street car.

Happy Wednesday folks.

I purchased the arms (and everything else) from FCP around mid March.

FML, I busted off the hose flange on the radiator trying to get that damn hose off.

The little nipple the expansion tank hose fits onto was already semi-broken, so I needed to replace the whole upper hose. Autozone had one in stock, so off I went. The oil filter housing end, and the lower hose popped off no problem, but the radiator end suuuuucked. I really tried to be gentle, but it eventually gave up the ghost.

New radiator on order from FCP. Can't hurt to replace it, but car is out of commission in the meantime. 180k miles over 15 years, can't complain (too much).

Dried coolant from broken nipple:

That happened to McLovin1 when we were bringing his ride back to life. Except, the entire elbow off the radiator literally ripped off with hardly any force. It was awesome lol.

Seriously. Ive loved mine. My OEM one failed after a year. The CSF has had zero issues and dropped my canyon/highway temps by about 10° it feels like. It more or less supported my car when it fell off the jack (well that and the crank pulley). Only bent in an inch and a half. Probably still useable. Replaced it anyways just in case

Yes, I added alarm and then it blinks after you code for alarm. Easy install etc. good luck
