Had a hydrogen clean via the air intake. Code came up for NOX sensor version - see pic. Also got an ageing CAT code.

Looks like a secondary CAT delete is in order. Anyone done is to their N43?

Also, the service messages on the car say I need front brake pads in 2900 miles or so. I want to cut down on brake dust and folks have mentioned akebono - is this what I want?

I opened up a can of elbow grease and polished up my badly weathered headlights. They were in dire need of a sprucing up. Wet sanded with 400, 1000 and 2000 grit paper and then a UV blocker clear coat that came in the kit. Before and after photos.

Mounted my new m-sport rear diffuser and got my new m-sport bumper on.

Started the water pump/tstat install. What a PITA. But happy that I'm able to do it myself without having to pay somebody

I used the Sylvania Headlight Restoration Kit. Amazon.ca link: https://www.amazon.ca/SYLVANIA-Headl...99&sr=8-1&th=1

I've tried a number of different kits over the years and the Sylvania kit is by far the best I've come across. And at just under 40 Canadian Pesos the price isn't bad either.

Nice!

I actually really like the instant MPG gauge. My OBC is actually set to the instant readout, ironically.

Oil temp gauge is way more useful though if you're going to have a dedicated gauge.

I agree... I've always liked the instant MPG. But an oil and coolant temp gauge would sure be nice!

I've always gone w/ Akebono for every application, very happy with them. No downside to them in my opinion! I hate BMW pads... they are the dirtiest nastiest things ever!

Very happy with my akebono euro ceramic pads aswell. Can drive for 5k miles without washing my wheels and theres like almost zero dust on them.

I do notice in the winter they need a littleee bit of heat in them at the start of your drive. Not bad enough to steer me away from getting them again though. This is winter in Georgia btw

I so need to do this, but I'm concerned about which paint to use. What brand of clear did you go with?

I got this kit on Amazon.ca. The clear coat is included and I only used about half the bottle so I have plenty to do another set of headlights if I ever need to.

Hopefully you don't have the dreaded Akebono clunk like I had on my 328i. Luckily FCP let me exchange them. Research proved I wasn't the only one.

I used to put Akebonos on everything, not anymore. Sure they don't dust, and the braking power is fine for casual driving, but the OEM Textar pads are superior in every way besides dust.

Took on split folding seats DIY. Hand tools and a visit to the junkyard for mounting parts. It's pretty straight forward as long as you take your time

(FYI if your seats wont lock after installing actuators and locks you have the locks on the wrong side they are marked L and R )

Just a quick oil and filter change today, all done with a Sealey vacuum pump. Sucks the oil out of the dipstick and into the pump's tank under vacuum pressure. Easy peasy. Completed in 30 minutes.
I know some will have issues with doing it this way, but it gets done properly once a year at the garage, but being the N47 engine, I like to give it an oil change every six months.

Ahhh the dipstick... simplicity some of us don't have a pleasure of enjoying.
