procede auto performance

Something that I noticed is when the car is not in DS, it's extremely slow to downshift now.. I'm finding myself either using DS or manually shifting the gears. The car drives fine and all, but doesn't seem as sporty as it was when just in drive.. When the thing is in DS, it's a beast.. Anyone else experiencing anything similar?

That's the point of Drive-SPORT.
In regular Drive the car is more relaxed and made more for fuel economy and relaxed cruising.

Stock or PROceded, it's the same.

Mines in DS 90% of the time anyways. I switch back when I'm stuck in fairly slow freeway traffic. I have not experienced what you're going through however. Although I've only driven about 100 miles since my procede install.

Neither does the PROcede. Non-DS shifting is slow. It's more obvious now since there is an extra 80-90lbft of torque on either side of the lazy shift.

Rick,
Sounds like your tranny adaptations are 100% run your car hard for a while in Drive and Drive sport. It will adapt to you better and you should see an improved result.

I was going to say what Shiv said. Your car is just "feeling" slow because now you're getting used to the added lump of TQ.

Do you have the paddle shifters? If so, try throwing it in DS and use the paddles to manually upshift/downshift; regardless of the PROcede or not, it will shift super fast (<100ms) and flawlessly. But with the PROcede, just remember to hold on with both hands.

I have the same set up as you and have no similar problems. I use standard drive about 60% of the time. It actually drives much smoother with Procede. I would give your car a little time to adjust. I also assume you are using map 1.45.

What does having the paddle shifters have to do with it? He already said he finds himself either staying in DS or manually shifting because he doesn't like the slow shifts of D. You do realize the paddle shifters just allow you to shift form the stearing column rather than from the stick don't you? They dont make the shifts any faster.

Yes, of course I'm aware...I'm not an idiot; I just thought he might have a better feeling when shifting via the paddles. I never use standard "D" mode; I always use my paddle shifters and there's nothing slow about the shifting in DS or ManuMatic mode. He just needs to understand the difference in shift points between D, DS, and M mode.

One thing to keep in mind in DS is on the highway it never seems to find 6th gear. So, even when I use DS for most of my driving around town, I have to remember to put it back in D for highway cruising, otherwise highway MPG suffers considerably.

Another reason to use the Paddle Shifters in M mode; you just manually flip into 6th gear, then you can have a little fun when getting off the highway on the off-ramp by flipping down to 3rd gear!

True, the shifts in M Mode are pretty much instantaneous. They feel as fast as they were in my M3 SMG.

I spend a lot of time in both DS and D. I switch back and forth constantly actually using DS to downshift and accellerate and D once at cruising speed so on a typical drive to work I might shift back and forth maybe 20 times. I sure hope the mechanism can take it

In stop and go traffic I like to use M mode since it give the most control and lets me use the gears to decelerate rather than having to brake as early.

I keep pushing the button, but the car takes forever to shift. Oh, I forgot, I have a stick.
