WTB: E91 with manual transmission
I am looking for a clean example of a 2009-2012 (LCI) 328i Touring with xDrive and 6-speed manual transmission.
I would like to find a car with less than 140k kms. Ideally, it would have M Sport or at least a Sport package, but it's not an absolute must-have. I am on the East Coast, but have bought cars from out of province before, so I'm willing to travel for the right car, although West Coast might be a stretch unless someone can help with transportation. Cheers. Last edited by eljay; 02-12-2018 at 11:06 AM.. Reason: added more details |

I think I saw one for sale on BMW true north (Facebook group). You should check there, and any other GTA / Ontario based Bmw groups.

Over your 140k KM requirements, but still a clean example. |

Yes, a very nice example, but having owned 200k+ mileage cars, things start to go and I need a car that needs less attention. I own an Audi Avant with 300k kms on it and have spent a lot of time and money on it. I know that any used car will need attention, but the higher the mileage, the more attention it will need. Keep the suggestions coming though. I really appreciate it. |

Nope. Just hoping to add to the stable.
I'd like another family wagon with lower miles and simpler maintenance (no turbos etc.). Then I can likely do more with the Avant. Currently, it's a daily family driver, so it cannot be off the road at all. Of course, anything is for sale for the right price. |

As little as possible for as much as I can get.
But seriously, I have a budget in the low teens. And I'm kicking myself for missing out on the 2011 wagon (kijiji link above). There was also another one for sale in December for $10k that had performance exhaust and other maintenance done. So, they are out there, but gone within hours and days when they pop up. I have also updated the first post to specify that I have a strong preference for an LCI model. |

Hi Eljay,
Thank you for your reply and the kind words. You asked whether I had a thread covering the modifications. No, I guess I was kind of selfish and kept all the fun to myself. I do, however, have a few pictures of the work in progress. I was unable to send them via PM so I thought I'd reply in the thread. I couldn't find any sports seats in Canada or the US. Finally found a complete sport/leather interior from a "breaker" in the UK and managed to have a shipping broker pick it up and deliver it to me. As for the exposed valve train, that was taken during the cam position sensor replacement. During the course of this most enjoyable project a bunch of other bits got some TLC, suspension bits, fasteners mounting brackets and more. The wagon is a blast to drive and the added power has "surprised" a couple of people. Best of luck in your search.

@e9106
Wow! Great showcase of your detailed work. As I mentioned in my PM, if this was an LCI E91, I would be all over it. Here's my Audi unicorn rescue in progress, so I can certainly appreciate the work you have done. My wife loves the four rings and I'm more of an propeller and ///M guy. Both of us love manual wagons and hatchbacks, so it's a tough household to satisfy with the manual becoming extinct. |

@eljay
Awesome thread! That's a labour of love. A lot of the work you did to the Audi reminds me of the pleasure I had working on the e91, right down to disassembling the seats to install the passenger occupancy sensor on what used to be the driver's seat from the UK donor. Great work.
