Could be your thermostat possibly? Maybe have a look to see what it's getting up to in the hidden menu.
I do quite a bit of town driving, check my Fuelly sig \/ as I have a 325d auto too Just checked, and even my high % town driving I still maintain ~30 mpg, so you might have a problem. |

Definitely check the ECT from the hidden menu. Thermostat issues and running low ECT is very common cause of mpg drop off in the diesel models.

Hi All,
I'm not spending enough time on this forum but thought I would give my two pennies worth. I return an average of 22 to 23 mpg in town, which increases significantly on A roads and motorways to anywhere between 32mpg upto 40mpg. After doing 800 miles from new, I even had a competition with a good friend of mine with a 320D M Sport Touring (2009 or MY 2010) - he managed 61.0mpg and I managed 61.3mpg (I must have had tail winds and somebody pushing me).
