When running stock or no boost you can barely hear it, but under 18psi its freaken loud.

i recirculated mainly cus im running meth, its lot quieter and sounds better IMO.

Just remove the insert.

I have access to the HKS recirculation kits but I did not know they worked for this car specifically.
If anyone can chime in with a specific part number i'll add it to my site. I dont want to add one and then have someone say it doesn't work for the 335i. I see a handful but they are usually labeled specifically for another car, like subaru wrx.

I always recommend the Tial, it is the most mature sounding.

Might have been the spring that was in there (11psi) but it was tough to hear the bov at with the Q.

I'm probably just deaf from the years of venting loud BOVs lol.

Tial is probably one of the quietest BOVs. A lot of guys like it as its not very intrusive but its definetly the wrong choice for anyone who wants the Whooooosh sound.

I had a Tial in my last car, Turboed Rsx-S, and it was only loud under full boost at lower rpms, def a quality piece but if u want to hear and showoff the sound this is not the bov for you. I went synapse this time and its a happy medium because its still smooth and quiet when im cruising and not trying to make too much noise but when you tap the throttle into at least 8-10 psi u get enough sound, but still dont hear it over the exhaust and motor when racing through gears and all i have are downpipes.

Also, someone please chime in but the synapse manual says it recommends purchasing a small filter for the end to prevent debris from entering the bov, anyone have an idea of what kind this could be? I want to run meth also

The reason i prefer the HKS valve form a mechanical point is the diaphragm, no need for lubrication or spring changes. There are ways to quiet it down and the recirc kit is one of them.

Hi all,

This may be a silly question, but when recirculating the hks bov on the n54 do you have to split it into two, and plug it into both intake pipes? Or jsut one and keep the other one plugged up?

Cheers!
