*****Worrying about KMS*****
Hi guys,
After spending 4 great years in Perth and getting my 07 e90 my wife and i done a dumb thing, we came back to shit Sydney, with a 2010 e90 m-sport space grey. Ever since coming back to Sydney im always worrying about the KMS i drive i was never like this in Perth sometimes i sit at home and calculate the kms from home to Strathfield and back and she goes crazy haha. I would like to know if other people worry about KMs like me or not. THANKS |

lol.. do you own your car or is it leased?
KMs can certainly affect the resale value but at the end of the day the car is there to be driven. I usually get the train to work M-F, so after some heavy weekend driving I'm pretty sure my car will be about average KMs down the line. |

I do almost 50km's a day now. I've had my car for 4 months and my odo reads almost 6,000kms.
at first i was really hesitant to drive it, but you have to remember. You worked hard to buy the car, might aswell enjoy the car and not let the next owner have more satisfaction than yourself. oh and i feel a little better because my father has had his car for 5 months and done 14,000kms :P |

well, I think don't worry about kms too...drive it like you stole it..but then my drive from home to works only about 12K so just have like 40K+ on mycar so far and more kms are welcome. Plus in a few days if the weather holds up I need to get back to cycling to work now that summer is here, have been overfed by my parents and inlaws who came down from overseas to live with us for a few months to help with their little baby grandson so desparately need to get to my normal weight....between public transport and the car the car surely wins handsdown though for sheer convenience and comfort.
I do know a much elderly friend of mine who has just 10K on his Merc after 3 years worrying about kms so don't fall in that trap Last edited by cruvon; 12-05-2010 at 05:07 PM.. |

I sometimes worry about the KMs i put on mine... but then when i think about it further, i always remember that the car was bought for driving. So after that i tend not to think about the KMs at all...
I'm still a bit conscious about it sometimes but hey, what can you do? if you need to drive, you need to drive... lol but i'll never drive my e92 like i drove my previous car.. haha had an 07 civic before this and that was when i was still unmarried.. driving back and forth daily between my place and my gf's (now wife) place, I managed to rack up just over 100K kms in under 2 years... haha i'm glad i'm married now and drive alot less |

I used to worry about my previous cars, but not anymore because you end up hating the car instead of enjoying it. They end up depreciating and costing an arm and a leg either way

just refreshing my high school converse theorem rules of long ago to see how this sounds, what about the converse " driving your bmw by adding kms like you stole it is like having sex with your girlfriend so she's less attractive to her next boyfriend.",lol Last edited by cruvon; 12-05-2010 at 06:25 PM.. |

+1 for Perth distances..
its not as small as you may think. It's very spread out, and you don't usually stick to your local area much.

if it makes you feel any better im racking up at least 70-100km daily 5 days/week
same view as others - you buy a car like this to enjoy it, I dont care about resale and am not planning to sell for years anyway |
