Chrome bonnet strips above kidney grill

Guys,

What the situation on these finish strips. I've read they were only fitted to the early E90 range, then only to 330i and 335i, they were phased out with LCI upgrades but then I've seen early 07 cars without them and 08 cars with them? It's a bit confusing...what were they fitted to and when were they phased out? Is there a simple answer?

The ones you saw without must have been coupes. All the pre-LCI sedans/wagons came with them.

For all intents and purposes, the E90/1 and E92/3 are different models, they share parts but the body is all different.

E90/1 Pre-LCI have the moustache type kidney grilles which are attached to the bonnet, LCI and all E92/3 have more usual full type kidney grilles not split ones.

Yes but what I'm seeing and saying is that cars well beyond the LCI upgrade (what's the date) have the chrome bonnet strips ..

Garage List
The facelift was a rolling programme of updating by model:

E90 & E91 - from September '08
E92 & E93 - from March '10.

However there can be quite a delay on facelifted cars getting to market, hence your seeing non-facelifted cars apparently too 'late'. For example my own E92 was built in April 2008, but wasn't registered in the UK until mid-March 2009.
