Pipercross is supposed to be the best performing filter (it’s mostly used on race cars). I have it on my car for over two years.

Thing is, I reckon the standard filter in the Euro box is already good enough, so not worth the risk of using these "performance" filters whether they be foam or oiled types - that is, really not going to make a huge difference in engine performance compared to say a performance exhaust etc.

I also have a Pipercross filter replacement and bit of an experimental ram air tube (and air scoops). No idea if any of it makes much difference ... was more just for something to tinker with

Did you feel any difference? I drove around 12,xxx miles with the K&N and it was pretty dirty. So I replaced my K&N filter with the paper filter until i clean it. Or maybe get the pipercross filter. But i did notice a difference in swapping the filters. Its not as sluggish as it was before.

I was running the afe dry filter. As long as you're down to properly maintain the filter, I think you'd be okay. However, unsure if there are actually any documented comparisons between the pipercross and other cone filters. Gains would be negligible, I imagine.
