Exclamation E9X Third Party Radiator Electric Fan Question

My OEM Electric Fan went out so instead of buying another one i wanted to buy a third party universal electric fan (Without Shroud) that zip ties to radiator. The reason why i want to do this is because 1) it will be lighter, 2) i will have more room in engine bay, and 3) i have a racing radiator so it will sit better. I know if i cut wires and connect it, the fan will stay on one speed.

My question is will 1400 CFM fan be sufficient cooling at idle? I want be sure that it will cool my car but at the same time not be to loud (OEM fan at MAX).

Any help will be much appreciated.

Nope, don't mess around with that garbage and just buy an OEM fan. If cost is an issue, buy a used one on ebay. You won't gain anything with an aftermarket fan besides potential electrical issues and less cooling efficiency.

removing the shroud will make it significantly less efficient.
it will only pull air across the part of the radiator that te fan is mounted to, and not the whole core.

the fan is controlled by the DME, so it's gonna be unhappy and you can't just plug in any old fan and have it work automatically without the integrated fan controller.
which means it's going to run at 100% fan speed whenever you manually switch it on, unless you spend money on an aftermarket fan conttroller as well, which will put you right at the cost for an OE style replacement. most of those use a temp probe that's meant to slip under a cooling hose, which the OE plastic hose connectors aren't going to let you install.

in short, it's a terrible idea.
