New Car Driving Tips

Hi all,

I picked up my new car on Monday (320i Exec). I love the car !!!

What I want to know is, is there anything special I need to do in the initial stages. I have been keeping the revs low and not pushing the car too much. Is this what I should be doing??

When do u guys recommend I do the first oil change, car says first service is at 25k

Your advice appreciated

Sean

Garage List
I usually drive 1500kms under 4,500RPMs at varying RPMs. with a few times going over it...
then I get my oil changed and make sure nothing is wrong with the car...

after that I drive it the way it was meant to be driven

Hi,

I have been keeping the car below 4,000RPMs. I have driven just under 500km now. So I should keeping doing what I'm doing now.

Do I take it to BMW for the oil change after 1500km ??

Only if you don't mind being ripped off.

Would suggest you buy a filter from the dealer; oil is cheaper at Repco etc. Just ensure it is BMW Longlife synthetic approved (it will be printed on the container). Once you have the above just get a local midas or similar to do it for you.

Hi ... Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase. Good to see another Brisbane member on this site. Stay tuned for a Brisbane meet in the new year.

I wouldn't worry about changing the oil at 1500 klms but I would recommend at 10 - 15,000. I found the car felt more free after 10,000klms.

Enjoy your purchase.
