question about exhaust system?
hi guys,
so i bought my new 335i in June, now i was wondering, because all you are good and know more then me so my question is: if i want to change stock exhaust into some aftermarket, what would be the best option, i mean also to get more HP when changing exhaust, also very important is that driving would be not so noisy inside a car? This is my question Please write all your opinion in here. Thank You |

I have the resonated Rennart system and it's not loud depending on what gear you are in. I can tell you it sounds awesome with the windows down and reving up downtown! Nice growl on the downshift and blip throttle. You can hear it just enough in 6th (mine is a 6spd manual) gear while cruising. This does not sound like a ricer exhaust if that is what you are looking for. Neither my wife or kids complain like they did with my exhaust on the S2000. Another way to think of the sound of this exhaust is to drive a 135 sport and multiply that sound by 3 or 4. Also, the car pulls harder after 6k rpms where boost starts to fall off. I also like that I can still hear all the tones of my stereo! I must be getting older.

My suggestion is that you search and look for reviews/soundclips so you can decide what the best exhaust is for YOU. Everyone likes to plug the exhaust that they have on their own car as being the best, but the sound of an exhaust is very subjective from one person to another so do some research and come to your own conclusions.
For a start some of the more popular exhausts include Eisenmann, Bastuck, Borla, RD Sport, CP-E, Ultimate Racing, Autobahn Exotics, Rennart, and a few others that range in overall sound/drone/tone. Have fun deciding on what's right for you.

We offer a 2x90mm or a 4x76mm (Quad) system for the 335i. Bastuck systems are handmade in Lebach Germany.

Dude, Bastuck exhaust is perfect. I have the Bastuck Quad and wanted a throaty tone without deafening my ears in the cabin. The exhaust give the engine a nice growl and even if you delete the 2nd cat its not load and gives the 335i the perfect tone with absolutely no drone! And it looks great

Yes, I believe that every downpipe on the market will work with a 2.5" exhaust. They all use the same flange on the end so that they would even work with a stock exhaust.
