So I've just flashed my 328xi with the bimmerlabs tune. Flash seems to have gone great after some mishaps I plan to make a video guiding people like me through the thing.

So the questions here are. I plugged in my disas to rev the engine and see how they move before I swap the manifold in and only the one with the long cable seems to be actuating per rpm. Idk which cable goes to which disa so I tried both ways still same issue.
Here's the videos;
1st way

2nd way

This is how my disas worked before flashing anything stock 328

Am I missing anything? Is a valve bad? Tune flashed wrong?
The car seems to run great more powerful than before but still stock manifold

Also car had codes 2aa8 and 2aa9 which I cleared before the revving test

Spoke with desertman123 on Instagram and well turns out the disas are messed up inside. Here's a video of how they're behaving while tested with INPA. Might open them up and check inside

I can 98% guarantee you you’ll need new DISAs. My old crap ones did the same thing. Just bit the bullet and got new ones from FCP.

I might end up having to buy new ones but since these somewhat turned I decided to open them up and see what was going on inside. They also made an oil slushing around noise when you'd shake them.

I think this could be the cause of the sluggish operation but we will see after I clean them up and seal/test them. They feel quite solid.

I appreciate your enthusiasm but I had the exact same symptoms and did the exact same thing. No improvement. Don’t want you to waste all that time for nothing.

I agree with you b1aze that their days are likely counted but I just took put them back together nicely cleaned and everything and here are the results

They work fine the small one I think I wanna replace it since it's the harder one to reach. I think the large disa is gonna stay for the run as it's not hard to do

Surprising. Glad that worked out for you. I agree with your thought process as you can really take out the large one in 15 min. vs having to pull the manifold off (at least partially) to get to the small one.

Yep I had a feeling they shouldn't have been bad given the condition. Back and forth between using this small one as is or buying a new one made of Chinesium lol

These two are branded Mahle with BMW logos around them. Is that the oem supplier?

Manifold is in. Car ran great had a bit of an issue with a vacuum leak which was the evap vent hose popped off but messaged a few folks around and got it sorted out. Car pulls very good on the low end also added top end power might be even better after it adapts and such!

This mod should be done to all of these cars no questions asked. Even if just the tune.

Putting together a DIY video for the 3 stage manifold swap step by step. Also one for the bimmerlabs flash
