can't say i've experienced any of this. In fact I haven't noticed any symptoms other than just finding oil in one of the spark plug welds when replacing the coils.

lucky.

mine would puddle oil and then when you turned left spill it all over the 5 and 6 runners of the manifold.

of course right below the HVAC air intake.

it was pretty rough at a stop light for a minute.

seriously this one is fine. It looked and felt just like OEM, made of the same material, same stickers on it.

just didn't have a BMW logo in it.

sample size of two, because the first one had shipping damage and I discovered it's crack in a corner after I installed it.
second one has been on my car for almost 20K miles now without issue.
and I did it the second time a week later in under three hours start to finish.

Did the URO valve cover come with ALL the gaskets, or just VC to head gasket?

IIRC it had all the gaskets.
It's been fine for 40K miles.

I'm about to pull it off to replace the ESS that I installed when I did the cover.
I'm going to slap new cover gaskets on it and leave the rest.

What is ESS anyway?

Is it Engine start/stop system?

FWIW I think you're making the right decision. My indy refuses to replace the VCG on its own. He always replaces the valve cover. He says it's almost impossible to remove an old and brittle valve cover without cracking it. You also get a brand new PCV system with the new cover.
Of course that policy is to cover his ass in the event that the old VC got cracked while replacing just a VCG. Saves him doing the labour for free if he has to go back and replace the VC.
