E92 solid subframe bushing

I am going to be replacing my subframe bushings with solid ones soon. I can't find a video or DIY thread anywhere on how to remove the subframe. Does anyone have a link to share?

I installed a set of bimmerworld solids in a e90 and I will tell you it was a nightmare. I wish I did poly personally. Yes once installed they are great but a absolute headache to install in my perspective

I did mine on the car though. I didn't remove subframe which I'm sure made it worse

IDK about it being a nightmare....I did it in a day with some friends help. The worst part is removing the old bushings. There really isn't a good way to do it aside from burning them out. A press would be best ,but there isn't a good way to get the subframe into most presses. The job is very strait forward. I found the hardest part to be getting the proper size wrench to remove the driveshaft from the diff. Otherwise, its a pretty intuitive removal and reasembly process outside of burning out the bushings.

There is a bushing removal tool being sold on eBay which I and a bunch of other forumers have used and works perfectly for the removal. If you are doing aluminum inserts the tool probably isn’t up to the task on the new insert install portion though.

I installed the Condor Speed Shop Delrin inserts and that was easy to do with a dead blow hammer, no bushing tool needed. I would recommend you use the same inserts for a painless install and a great result.

Here’s my install notes:

I have the same and went in smoothly. I have the entire condor catalogue on my e30 and have been really happy with everything they have produced so far. Hoping they make more parts for the e9x platform as well.

I think they will make more. They just released N52 headers and have been campaigning a n52 E90 which took first place at Daytona last weekend to win their division championship. They are local to me and I’m actually planning a trip to their shop to check out what they are doing this week.

How do you get the solids in? Which tool did you use? I have read they are very hard to get in.
