By conflicting info do you mean that some places say it only fits the 325i 325xi 328i 328xi and other places mention it is compatible with the 330i?

I have the Valeo kit on a x30 N52. Yes some sources say it doesn't fit; But I and others have it on and it does work.
FYI the 330i clutch is the same part number as the 325xi and 328xi and many others (240mm clutch); whereas the 325/328i rwd have a smaller clutch https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...&q=21207626561 |

If I'm remembering correctly, the Valeo conversion kit uses the larger clutch disc for all applications.

Anyone know offhand what transmissions the 325xi/328xi use? I know for the RWD cars, the 330i has a ZF manual while the 06 325 and 07+ 328 uses a Getrag manual. I wonder if that has anything to do with the differences?

Quote:
for the larger 240mm clutch there is 3 versions: awd 325/328 + rwd 330, awd 330(and awd 530s) and then another for the 530 awd wagon and x3. All have the same disk but they all step up in pressure plate force. |

I think you're safe going with the Valeo. Taskmaster had bought one before he converted to the dark side............ Doubt he still has it, though.

Thoughts on the Valeo solid flywheel for N52? A well respected BMW "guru" in my area is doing 6MT conversion for me and he recommended the Valeo kit. However, in another thread, someone said stick with DMF or risk chattering and vibrating.

The Valeo SMF is same weight as the OEM DMF. From all the reviews I have read I have not heard of any more chatter than the OEM DMF mentioned. The downside of the kit was I don't think you could originally buy just the replacement clutch disc (you had to buy whole kit including SMF) but looks like you can now.

Mine is a little chattery and whatever compared to OEM, but not so much that I wish I'd stayed with the dual-mass system.
