Best intake for the money

I am pretty sure this is up already but seeing as I have a small window at work and no time to look it up, i figured i would post it. I have a 2011 335i performance addition and i want to get an intake for a little added gain before i get the car chipped. Are there any suggestions/ recommendations for particular intakes that give the most power and reasonably priced?

Adding an intake does absolutely nothing but add cool sounds. Maybe at high high boost levels you can gain small gains.

I love my injen its very loud but it does heat soak since its made of metal.

injen. just got mine installed. but if you dont have a tune, downpipe and all that stuff to get you to run high boost levels it probably wont do anything.

I just did the hp foam drop in and it seems a little snappier. From most that I have ready your not going to see huge gains. It cant hurt though as the extra boost from a tune can only help with the added filter.

Keep the stock air box (since its about as good as it gets) and save the money for different engine or cosmetic mods
Aftermarket intakes are purely for sound only.

Standard Tunes for 335

Keep the stock box, Get the aFe Super stock with ram air scoops, Change the stock filter to oiled and get the added air when you drive. $150

Install the JB4 which attaches to your ECU or use the Cobb , which is alot easier to setup becuse it loads form the drivers seat.

I personally used the JB4 and love it because the controls and the on the fly switching but had to take it out for service so I don't want to repeat this every thime I blow a coil, so I am trying the cobb soon.

Add downpipes to use stage 2 maps $600 BMS

Stage 2 120wHp Gain for $1000

But im just a rookie, so don't take my work for it, read around.

Thanks for the information. It seems unanimous that BMS has a good reputation for the downpipes. What about AR designs?

Haven't used either , but have been researching for a while, I know the AR's are very solid and sound nice but come with a hefty price tag. there are other brands you can get too, but
BMS puts in work to get the product right.
go to http://burgertuning.com/N55_BMS_BMW_...downpipes.html

Please try this out and let me know http://www.burgertuning.com/N55_Stage2_Jb4.html

Eager to see an N55 tuned

I am upgrading bimmers soon, so I am holding off any engine mods that I can't transfer.

I currently have an XI model that only AR makes a catted version for with a $950 price tag. Trying to snag something under $500 or no go.

If you want to stay with your stock airbox I suggest our Green air filter.

Our Active Performance Green filters Are excellent and have a proven track record over on m3post!

Why Go Green?

The Active Autowrke N55 performane filters is designed from inception to have that BMW factory like appeal added with the Active Autowerek philosphy to deliver true perfomance. The end result is a direct drop-in style fitment that lets your engine breathe more effortless while delivering dyno proven horsepower gains.

Time tested on matching the right pleat design with the optimum filtration were all conducted on the in-house Mustang Dyno, here at Active Autowerke. The end result is a product that performs on par or often excels when matchd against the competition.
Simple but functional, this performance product does the job wonderfully.
This is a direct drop-in filter that fits into your factory air box.
Application fitment for 2011+ BMW E9x 335i (not335IS), and 2011 + BMW E8x 135i.

The Active Autowerke Green Performance Air Filters are uniquely designed to take full advantage of cottons capabilities.

Unlike multi-layer gauze filters which can fray and release fiber particles into your engine, our filters uses two layers of tightly-interwoven cotton fabric. The 3 main benefits to woven cotten are the fact its thinner, holds oil better, and is stronger. Since its thinner, it allows better air flow without sacrificing filtration. The cotton holds the oil more evenly, and the medium is much stronger. Unlike gauze, you cannot wear a hole in woven cotton by rubbing it, and there is no way small bits of cotton can rip off since its interlocked with another piece.

Cross weaving one fine, and one medium layer, produces a fabric that is thinner and stronger than other materials and has the ablity to trap dirt up down to 5 microns. The result is better airflow without sacrificing filtration. And because the fabric is so durable, they can be washed and reused over and over, which allows us to give it a lifetime gaurantee.

Hand molded flexible rubber base on filters.
Green Filter USA rubber molds create air tight seals. We also feature trim-able custom fitment tabs on all filters.
Green Filter USA uses deeper air filter pleats which creates 20% more filtration surface.
Race proven gains and technology.
