I would help you but i'm in SF,CA. 1.) I suggest you start with the ultrasonic module, pull the rear dome light down on the side closest to the front. -Remove the plug on the side thats in the plastic holder. (kind of have to wiggle in and manuveur it out; it's hard to get out) -Then module will fit snugly in the rear dome light -Insert the plug you removed and into the module. -Now you're done here, it's easier to first put the side you pulled out first(side closest to front) in first then hit the light side in last. 2.) Move to hood switch; you just need the bracket, switch, and a screw. -There should be a plug thats not used on the drivers side (located like 3/4s way from the front and a feet to the left) -Unwind the tape around the plug and remove the plug adapter. -Now screw in the bracket to the car near the plug (there should be a place where the bracket will fit snugly. -Next put the sensor in the bracket and plug in the plug. 3.) LAST is the ALARM SIREN... Read what the OP typed up. (again theres the tape you have to unwind from the plug and also an adapter thats plugged into it <probably to protect the plug itself>) At the end the big rectangle pan thing is suppose to support and hide the siren in the cavity in the wheel well nicely. Once everything is installed and plugged in and you lock the car, the clown nose will start to blink... (thats how you know you plugged and installed everything correctly) -Jeff |

I just ordered the retrofit kit and will take photos for replacement. I should have it all installed within the next month, headlight washers too.

has anybody done this on an e93 and used the optional interior protection parts? see attached instructions.
there appear to be some additional parts to add the interior protection motion sensors which are part number 65 75 6 950 525 and says that 4 of these are needed as well as four screws. if 4 are needed, this is quite expensive as each one is $69 on mileone.com |

For those in the Seattle, WA area who need alarm programming...
I shopped BMW of Seattle and they wanted $180 but I got it done at Strictly BMW (indy) for just under $60, they said it depended on how the flash went with my car but the cap was $106 or such.
Parts from Morristown BMW via ebay. 30 min for the self install (the ultrasonic module was the easiest part. Pulled from the front and it just comes off nice and easy). 30 min at Strictly and I'm good to go. Haven't tested it fully out but it does make a mild chirp on lock and double chirp on unlock. No OBC settings for that so it's either chirp or no chirp at the time of flashing. FWIW, --Mike 06 330i |

Look at big mess of parts and make sure it is all there.
Open trunk, remove passenger cover, and remove negative battery terminal. Start inside so that you keep the headliner clean. Sit in backseat, pull light assembly front front to rear, pull down and back. Insert ultrasonic module and connect it. Snap entire assembly back in place. Stare at read driver's wheel, decide to jack up car, and take it off. Remove some nuts and if you have mudflaps like I do, just bend the inner cover back so you don't have to remove everything. Pull down harness from the wheel well and unwrap the fabric tape on the connector. Remove connector cover. Bolt siren to bracket as so. Bolt bracket onto car, connect harness, and bolt siren assembly to car. Put everything back together; inner liner, wheel, and drop the car. Move to the front and open the hood. Locate connector along fender and remove plastic trim. Remove connector cover, screw bracket to car, push in switch, connect to harness, and push both wire management pieces onto car body. My clown nose now blinks, but the alarm doesn't work yet. Drive to dealer and get it coded.

I plan to do this now that it looks pretty simple. I'm pretty Mechanically Inclined and the dealer already told me my 330 is prewired. I'll be shopping around for a good deal on the alarm now.
thanks Bora for post pictures. The OP pictures aren't showing up.

...or open the hood and look for the hood pin wiring... ...or remove the left rear tire and look for the wiring harness under the liner

for those of you that want a trunk switch...you can modify your own. My guess is that the front hood switch is probably a normally open switch (although it could be normally closed, I'll check when I get my alarm in) buy one, wire it in parallel with the front hood switch, and install it somewhere...there you've basically installed two hood switches, but you've got protection in the rear.

Hello again,
Still do not have the alarm in my car, because my car is not pri-wired, and according to BMW the roof-lining has to be replaced, wich alone costs about €400. Now, did anyone do the wiring themselves, and if so, is it difficult? (I do have the official BMW guide) And did anyone ever cut the headlining of a E92 so that there is room for the ultrasound module, and therefore not needing to replace the whole headlining? |

easy as pie
Just finished installing mine, my car , a 2007 (made in 09/06) was already wired, and the hood switch cable was already routed to the right spot, so it was really easy to install. I got mine from morristown bmw's ebay page, cost me 236$ shipped.
My clown nose blinks, but no chirps...gonna have to go get it activated at the dealer One question though... I didn't dissconnect the battery terminal before doing it. Should i have done that? i can do it now if it'll help :-p Thanks. PS: anyone in the bay area, where did you get your alarm activated, and how much? wondering what the cheapest place to do it is.

Not me, I did the install this afternoon. Nothing works actually except the LED in the mirror
I tried sticking my hand in the window - no dice. Hood switch test - no dice. A problem I had was removing the rear wheel though. I had two friends with me (one's really really buff) and none of us could get it off. Fortunately I could complete it without removing it. Activating next week so hopefully everything will work then. One more thing - when I lock the car, the LED flashes rapidly for the first few seconds then returns to normal. In the instructions BMW says that means either a door or something is not secure (which I checked everything was OK) or the interior sensor is not correctly connected (which I also checked was OK). Anybody else have this problem? |
