Transmission downshift issue

This has been happening for a while now but can’t find any reasons why. When accelerating in D mode only it will downshift right after it shifts into 5th then to 3rd and then back up to 5th and 6th.

It will only do this in Drive mode, sport and manual are fine. There are no tranny codes. My adaptation values are high but normal for an 2008.

Anything I can check or any ideas? I hope a shift solenoid is not going bad.

How many miles? have you changed the tranny fluid? if not, that's the first step you want to do. While you are down there, look for leaks. Mechatronic sleeve tends to leak on these trannys. Good luck!

132k changed fluid at 120k. Looks like I got a slight leak on corner of pan only when car sits for long period of time.

Think low fluid could cause this to occur only in drive mode? Sport and manual no issues.

Don't think so, I just wanted to rule out the obvious and inexpensive steps to follow. To be honest, most likely need to replace your solenoids inside your tranny. Replace your sleeve while you are there. Any knowledgeable shop will ask you to do so. Parts and labor should be no more than $800 at Indy shop. Dealer about 3k
