AA RAC are they worth it? I should say so!
4 weeks ago my discovery blew a gearbox oil cooler pipe off on a motorway in france, the car is well maintained and low mileage 7 years old. the pipe apparently is a known weakness but not by me. anyway cost so far, a friend rescuing my trailer £30, B+B £50, ferry back to portsmouth £111, friend giving a lift back to maidstone £40, train back to garage £358, taxi to garage £20, B+B £50, rescue off motoway £? £200?, cost of repair £? £300? ferry back to england £50. total £1150 plus having to do without the 4x4 for 4 weeks when normally i use it for work every day. AA/RAC membership £200 and i would have been home the same day. would i buy another land rover? absolutely

so got the total cost £1500, all because of one cheaply made rubbish plastic connector! even better the pipe that came apart is no longer available from land rover!
