e92 Driverside window hitting the trim *Need Help*
Hi, I recently got a used 08 e92 335i and according to the first owner, the driverside window was damaged and replaced with OEM windows. I don't know if it is not install properly or what, but when I close the door the window somehow get on top of the trim. I tried the passenger side and it works wonder, you close the door, the windows move up just a notch to close the gap. It getting really annoying that I have to push the windows down before closing the door so it don't damage the trim or the windows. Does anyway have this kind of problem before? and how was it fixed? I really need some help as it is becoming a hassle. I want to shadowline the trim, but knowing that if i forgot to push the windows down when I close the door, it might damage the trim. Any help or input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try the window resetting procedure:
1. Hold down on the window switch until it fully opens, continue holding the switch for 10 seconds. Then release. 2. Pull up on the window switch until it fully closes, continue holding the switch for 10 seconds. Then release. 3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 until you hear a "clunk" sound. Your window have been successfully reset. Good luck. |

No, I still have the original warrenty until Feb 2011, I don't know if the work was done under insurance and no, I do not have the paperwork on the repair.
I will try the reseting procedure, if it doesn't work, i will bring it in and have the regulator replaced. what exactly is a "clunk" sound? just wondering Thanks all for the reply |

that clunk noise just means your window has been re-initalized from the anti-trap feature. Anti-trap only occurs when the battery terminals have been disconnected for a while.
Your window regulator is not broken.. Symptoms of a bad regulator would conclude to your window not being able to roll up or down. |

great tip! I sometime encounter this problem:
On driver side window, I tried to roll all my windows up at the same time with all up key, but the driver side window rolls back down in the middle of the process... do you think reset will fix it too? |

Does NOT work ('09 E92 M3) , Like 90% of things written on these forums..
Tried it with all combinations. The only way is to disconnect the battery , or use ISTA / INPA. |
