Diagnostics/code reader recommendations

Hello, looking for recommendations for a reasonably priced code reader to clear an airbag light once i have replaced the active head rests. Preferably a product in the UK.

My recommendation would be INPA.
Costs peanuts, provided you have a laptop or Windows tablet to run it on, and will do everything you will ever need to do including coding with the associated programmes supplied with the package.

Downside is you need a Windows machine and depending where you obtain the software it can be a PITA to install but once working it is very good.

Others have their own preferences like Carly or Foxwell etc. and will no doubt be along to extol the virtues of their favourite device shortly.

I've got an old Acer Aspire 1 running windows XP, plus BMW standard tools, ie inpa/tool32/ncsexpert/winkfp. Laptop is about £40, cable is £20 or so, software is free. If you follow this guide, its very easy to install: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1204192

Glad you got it sorted!!

Re: Protools, havent tried it, purely as what i already have covers most bases for a lot less money lol. The laptop does the complicated stuff and ive got an early (before subscription) version of Carly for simple coding etc
