Whatever happened with the TCK modified shocks? Did they get repaired? Did the others last long?

I had mine modified 15k miles ago by TrueChoice Racing Services. I hope they last, but I suspect that TCK was using TrueChoice to do the work. Time will tell.

Question

BUMP!

So I finally installed my H&R Sportline springs and Koni Yellows. The car sits fine but of course I have that obnoxious rake on the front end. Do I have any options to drop it further?

Coilover's or custom Koni's are your only 2 options. If you replaced your tophats, the front will sit higher for a few months.

Unfortunately the H&R springs for the xi have that front rake.

I'm pretty happy with the drop from the B&G S2 springs on my E92 335xi.

You can pair them with the usual assorted upgraded shocks out there, spring rates are supposedly in between Eibach and H&R for firmness.

Sorry OP, I hope you will find some way to fix your leaking shock. It's just ironic how it all started praising TCklein and then they fukced OP in the arse, never returned calls, hiding from him - all this for 1 leaking shock lol. Lifetime warranty lol - because it will take you lifetime to get response from them or catch them outside lol. Worst company to deal with probably lol This "TC Kline Racing" shill tho - hope he gets what he deserves

Lesson learned - nothing beats tried and true German coilovers like KW for example

Yea the shock itself was great had they warrantied it. I had to call tru-choice in ohio who does their work for them. It is a GREAT alternative IF they could warranty their work.

Granted the replacement that Try-Choice gave me held up well, the other old shock that is 3 years old is still great as of 2 months ago.

Lesson learned. Go with Try-Choice if you must do this! Direct and easier.

This is how I fixed my reverse rake on my wagon using H&R springs:
2 x e30 rear spring pads (one already cut fit)

Stick it in upper spring seat:

Add factory spring pad on top:

Voila:

Never had any issues, was super comfy (springs paired with koni yellows)

I’ve been keeping a eye on this since I’ll have to do suspension and I’d like to get rid of my California lean (reverse rake). So far it seems like I could ;

1-get some shocks from try-choice

2-those B&G springs that where pictured above a

3-someone was telling me that the Dinan Xi specific springs work well too ?

Is this it ?

Did you change the top hats at the front when you did the suspension ?

I'm on the fence between just putting koni yellows with my xi springs, or trying to include eibach prokit springs and get the Konis modded. I really liked my e39 on oem sport springs plus Konis but xdrive makes life hard

Old threat but need some help. Anyone know of any ways to lower rear coilovers on an xi any lower than maxed out? I've heard taking out one of the rings works as well as possibly getting new springs. Anyone know of any tricks or which springs I should get? 2009 335xi on neomotorsport coilovers

[QUOTE=eurojulien;21529305]This is how I fixed my reverse rake on my wagon using H&R springs:

Is Eurojulien still around?

I'm assuming this was to add lift to the rear springs to balance out the reverse rake. Measuring roundel to fender lip on my stock xdrive springs I have a difference of around 1 inch. Does this really add that much?

Anyone know?
I've tried PM'ing eurojulien as well.

Hi guys, recently i've order B4 struts #22-214287 and some H&R Sport Springs #29187-3 which should drop my car 35mm/1.3inch in the front and 20mm/0.8inch but after i installed them i realized that i remained with a rake in the front. What exactly happend? Front was exactly the same as before and the rear you nearly gap a finger between fender and tyre. I said mhmm, ok, let's google and after some searches i found that i have higher guide supports and also found some front upper spring perchs which could lower the car a bit. Order the parts, changed them and then boom, the front lower a bit ~0.5inch and still have that ugly rake in the front.
This B4 struts doesn't have those stoping points which could be cuts in order to push furder the strut into the carrier.
The car is a e90 LCI xDrive 4cyl.

Any advice or should i buy directly coilovers?

Extended shock towers to Increase travel

As was mentioned earlier, has anyone experimented with raising the shock tower therby increasing the shock travel by an equal amount? I have seen this on a custom rally car, and a previous post mentioned elevated strut bearings from Ground Control. I have checked Ground Control's site and they do not make an elevated strut bearing. Their xi camber plate does not appear to have this feature either.

It looks like this may be a custom modification and, while in a structurally important area, not impossible to do. I think an additional 1-1.5" of travel could be achieved before hitting the hood. I would use Carbon fibre and epoxy, but a welded steel solution would be equally good.

What is the difference in suspension travel between the xi and the rwd front suspensions? Would we then use rwd front shocks or are there other differences?

I currently use the ST-X coil overs which I am very happy with, but additional suspension travel is always nice.

Any comments?
