Car Stolen

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, my son's Black M Sports 2008 E92 BMW 335i was stolen from an underground car park in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast. Police chased it at one stage on the Wednesday but gave up due to the Qld Police policy of not chasing speeding cars. It was seen around Southport on Thursday. If any of the Forum members on the Gold Coast happen to see it in their travels could they call me on 0409879165. Rego is 257RQX

If and when I find more detail on how the car was entered, I will let you all know. I have seen some CCTV from the car park showing one of the 2 involved and how he opened up the boom gate on the exit, jumped into the passenger side of the car and they drove out.

That sux! I'd really be interested in knowing how they managed to enter and start the car. I always thought this car was well secured from such possibilities.

Good luck with finding the car / insurance.

gay af. hopefully those rims crack on them and they leave the car somewhere.

I don't understand how they could steal it without the key. sometimes I can't start mine even with the fuckin key.

Do you have comfort access? I've heard that they can retransmit the signal and start the car that way some how. Sorry to hear it mate.

They are easy to get into. Getting it started and moving will require a bit more expertise.

Disturbing since its so close to home, they can be taken by intercepting the keys signal/transmission and must be saved to a blank according to my knowledge. I have a gps tracker in mine, see if BMW will turn on teleservice and track it.

hope ya retrieve it

All a thief needs to do is hack the diagnostic connector to steal your car, this can be done by someone that knows what they are doing in less than 3 minutes.
The thieves subvert the intrusion alarm, they then access the OBD & collect unsecured easily decoded information on the key codes & program a new key.
They either decode & hack the door lock, or break a window in a way that doesn't set of the ultra sonic alarm, then they just attach a sophisticated reader to the OBD such as CarMD, Innova or Actron which will give them the specific key code to your car & then they just load that info onto a key 'blank' & off they go with your car. Simple as that.

Don't you just love the way some of our fellow members are so keen to share with every man and his dog how to steal your car???

Perhaps you could reflect on the need to make yourself look smart and shut your bloody mouth.

I accept this information is no doubt available on google or whatever, but you don't need to put it in everyone's face.

There really are some self serving people on this planet.

To the OP - I hope you get your car back in one piece.

Just trying to help prevent other thefts by making people aware of the vulnerabilities. I understand and accept your criticism.
There are nicer ways to say it though.
