Hello Folks,
I have a dilemma. I put in the new battery in 2011 e92 and the car won't start at all. No lights nothing. It's like car doesn't even know if any battery is there. I need help to get the car started. The battery is good and I am quite positive I have plugged in everything correctly. Please advise what should I do? I'm very close to Howard County Maryland

First thing is make make sure the connections are tight and there's no corrosion build up on the battery cables.

I have the same problem....I get a ERROR_ECU_CONDITIONS_NOT_CORRECT_OR_REQUEST_SEQUEN CE_ERROR when trying to register.

I'm running 55.4 daten and INPA 5.0.6 on Windows 10. NCSExpert has been running fine on it for quite some time, so wondering why this simple registration doesn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Use the Tool32 method, much more reliable.

Not if the same battery is put back in. The whole reason you register a battery is so that the IBS knows there's a "new" battery so that it updates its charging characteristics.

Can you connect using NCS and see errors using INPA?

Go back to the first page and read Dracon's post. Bottom line, you'll need to select the highest setting for VO and CAS. "B" reps lead acid, while "A" reps AGM in the VO.

I read this thread and others regarding battery coding and registration many times, and it appears that changing the VO is the proper method to use when replacing the stock battery (90ah wet cell in my case) with a different type or rating. The problem I am having is after changing the VO for the new AGM battery and registering the battery with tool32, INPA is still telling me that I have a 90ah battery installed (Sparky66 procedure in post #17 of this thread). When I read the KLASSE_BATTERIE line in my CAS it still reads 90ah. Is there a step that I am missing between writing the new –A080 code to VO and registering the battery with tool32? Below is the exact step by step procedure I used:

Changing VO:

1. Open NCSEXPERT
2. File > Load profile > Select Expertmode > Click OK
3. Press F1 (VIN/ZCS/FA)
4. Press F3 (CS/FA f. EC) > Select E89 > Click OK > Select CAS > Click OK
5. Press F6 (Back)
6. Press F1 (VIN/ZCS/FA)
7. Press F2 (Enter FA) > Select E89 > Click OK
8. A window labeled “Eneter VIN” appears with your vehicles VIN number filled in > Click OK
9. A window labeled Enter FA appears > scroll to find VO for old battery (-B090) > highlight –B090 and press delete on keyboard
10. Enter –A080 is “Attribute” box > Click Add > Click OK
11. Press F6 (Back)
12. Press F4 (Process ECU) > Select CAS > Click OK
13. Press F2 (Change Job) > Select FA_Write > Click OK
14. Press F3 (Execute Job)
15. Verify that the write is complete “Job Ended”
16. Press F1 (Change ECU) > Select FRM > Click OK
17. Verify lines : get coded, FRM, JOBNAME = FA_Write
18. Press F3 (Execute Job)
19. Verify that the write is complete “Job Ended”
20. Press F6 (Back) > Exit NCSEXPERT

Register Battery:

1. Open Tool32
2. Datei > SGBD, Gruppendatei Laded > Select MSD80.PRG > Click Open
3. Highlight steuern_batterietausch_registri
4. Job > Job Einmal Ausfuhren (run job once)
5. The job runs pretty quickly and the results say Job_status = okay. The results are exactly like that of post #26 in this thread.

I have gone back and looked at the VO codes in both CAS and FRM modules using steps 1 – 8 in my above procedure. I have confirmed that the original VO “-B090” is not in the list anymore and “-A080” has been added to the list.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Guys I need some help on this. I now need to code for a new battery. I have working INPA/NCS/Tool32 etc. But when I come to the STEP 16 as highlighted, I don't see FRM in the menu. I do see FRM and CAS in other menus but not at step 16. Well documented though. I don't know if I'm missing FRM or what? Tbh, the F1 key is not the same at this step. SG/SGET....not Change ECU.

FWIW, I bought 80Ah battery. TIA!!

NFRM is the same, it's just a newer module than the FRM.

F1 still does the same function no matter the title.

I have copied the coding steps from coding DIY guide posted by xxxjecxxx (thanks and hope he doesn't mind!). The registration steps were assembled from information in this thread, and my own experiences of learning how to use the Tool 32 software. Enjoy!
Thanks Wilsjay
I used your PDF instruction and it worked! It looked different in NCS starting out on STEP 2 Load Profile FSW PSW MAN, but I used Expert Mode and followed the rest. Some others down the line were off too but main thing is to create the FSW_PSW.MAN file from the .TRC and worked out.

Now my new Walmart H8 battery will be happy. I believe it's 80Ah. Confirmed in INPA. Thanks again everyone.

Problem coding back to 90Ah...

Guys, so I mentioned couple a days ago that I successfully re-coded and registered my new Walmart H8 battery to 80Ah. I was following the
Aftermarket Battery Registration DIY.pdf instruction.

I then found out that the Walmart H8(wet-cell type) can be left as 90Ah(still not 100% certain but anecdotal info seems that 90Ah is acceptable: choice is 80, 90, 95Ah).

Fast forward, I tried to go back to 90Ah from 80Ah and now it won't do it I'm using NCS/Tool32/INPA.
I've tried what seems like 100 times NCS/Tool32. INPA still report it as 80Ah.
I've tried differently to re-code it but nothing works.

Idea is that you should be able to re-code as many times or different value codes with NCS/Tool32 once you done it. Oddly it won't.
No errors just like the 1st time I re-coded it.

FSW-PSW.TRC saved to FSW_PSW.MAN file.
Then modified KLASSE_BATTERIE value to 90Ah from 80Ah. Then run the job once.
Then registered with Tool32. INPA verification comes back 80Ah every single time.

I'm lost at this point............................................. .............
Did need to disconnect the battery terminal as if changing the battery?

Disconnected the negative battery terminal for 30 min and hooked it backup.
Ran the NCS/Tool32 and INPA still reads 80ah.

The thing I saw was that the .TRC file Klasse_batterie value goes back to 80Ah every time I write to the DME. The .MAN file is a good boy and retains the 90 without an issue.

At this point I'm just gonna leave it in 80Ah. It won't hurt at least for under-charging it. Pretty damn good battery though as I sat in the car with radio on for hours doing this $hit.

Anyone out there??? Any NCS Experts out there???
