Right on ... glad to hear they've put out an update. It's good to know AA isn't resting on it's laurels regarding the N51/52 tune ... I wasn't too sure since it seems they never have their headers in stock. I'm looking forward to seeing how AA's update and BPC compare. (guessing they'll be right in line with each other)

IF you don't mind me asking ... out of curiosity, what's the price of an update?

Once they send me the updated tune, I am planning on doing a comparison - just like last time: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1355046

Great! ... looking back on the thread you posted ... that's the thread that ultimately lead to me purchasing the BPC tune. Thank you for that!

thanks for all the feedback guys. So it looks like my girl is willing to take over the payments on this next year and I'll be upgrading to a 335i or 535i. Not sure which yet. In the meantime I'll do the BPC tune, and what do you guys think of this intake?

If you're looking for higher performance without the need for additional tunes ... I'd go 335i over the 535i. Although the 535i has 300hp it's much heavier than the 328i. Frankly according to published figures ... a stock 328i is just as quick 0-60 as a 535i.

My 128i with a N51 engine and an AA Header, AA Tune, aFe Intake, and custom 3" Single Exhaust netted me 241 WHP @ 217 Ft-Lbs.

So that'd be 283 hp @ 255 ft-lbs. However you wanna look at it.

I've discovered it has the N51 engine with the SULEV spec.
What's my best upgrade path here?
I was originally going to go with the 3 stage intake and euro airbox, but now I'm not sure what my best direction is. Most of the info here is old or vague on N51's.

Trading it in for a 335i isn't an option right now. My payments would be sky high because I'd be upside down. I really just want about 260hp out of her and I think that'll make me happy for a few years until I'm in a position to trade her in for an F30 335i

Forget about it and save money so you can upgrade to F30 faster. N51 is a worst engine for upgrades. It already comes with 3SI to compensate for lower compression ratio. And NO, it isn't same as n52 - it won't get you 260hp with tunes and such. n51 has different pistons and some other parts too. It is already at it's best with 3SI. No tune can make it any faster. All this BS about secondary cat delete is a BS, it will not yield you a single hp increase, you may even lose some hp

In short, too much to write here, but just save money and be motivated to upgrade your car quicker

Sounds like a troll. Well, judging by my dyno numbers and some rough math I was up in the 260~ range with my mods.

I have a N51 with the euro box intake and PE and it's fairly quiet. Possibly getting a tune in the future.

What is this “custom exhaust” set up
Bc i love performance but I also love obnoxiously loud exhaust haha
Currently a 2.5 or 2.75 after the primary cats all the way to the tips, not sure what the stock size tubing is but I have that so wither 2.5 or 2.75
I really dont wanna any sort if mufflers, cats or resonators so i can be as loud as possible. Planning on gutting an extra pair of headers for a ful straight pipe, however not sure if I should bump it up to 3 inches or not? I’ve already lost enough backpressure plus probably more after that gutted header soon, so not sure if i shoulda stick with 2.75 or go up to 3 and maybe add an X pipe perhaps smaller diameter then bigger as it ends somewhere after where the 2nd cats should be

Your goal sounds pointless... You just want to be loud?

Burns Custom Y-Pipe immediately after the headers into a single 3" exhaust, going through a Vibrant 12" Bottle Resonator and then through a Borla XR-1 Muffler.

It's loud. Go to 0:50 seconds to watch the car run

^ damn that soudns really nice on my phone but audio is always different than in person
I was kinda thinking of running and X pipe ( for much needed back pressure) right after the primary cats then running dual pipes up until where the resonator would be maybe a little after and then go to the y pipe and then to the tips
Just not sure what size tubing I should use
I believ rn I’m 2.5 from the primaries back actually not 100% sure tho
