drop or rims

330xi with stock 17...

i want the lowered "look" but from researching my options it seems more people argue that lowering xi's is not advised. i love the look and i know that increasing the rims to 18;s or 19s will change the look i currently have but will they look corny on a stock xi set up?! anybody have pics of an xi with 18 or 19s that did not lower their car?!

Why would dropping an X Drive/xi be not advised? I have pics of stock 18" 193M's in stock and lowered form in my sig.

The roads in Miami are subjected to much, much less temperature fluctuation (which causes road expansion and contraction), road chemicals and plows as in the north.

The engineers at KW Suspension has tested and developed the KW V1 xi and KW V3 xi specifically for your car. You will be able to run either of these systems on your X drive vehicle without any issues. KW also backs all of their products with a lifetime warranty if purchased from an authorized dealer such as ourselves.

In terms of wheel size it going with 18" will be your best bet in terms of performance gains and weight savings compared with a 19" wheel.

Let me know if you have any quesitons at all and I'll be more than happy to assist you!

19" rims, first on stock suspension, then lowered on KW V3's. Love the look and the way it handles now. 1,000 times better than stock.

Yeah, nice choice! I considered tint but I had 15% on my last car and just decided to go without on this car. I bet it looks great however

For some reason this does not look that bad. The other pics of 19s w/ no drop in this thread looks real bad. Those are VMRs right?

Nice, I bet you can't wait to get home, stay safe there. Enjoy your car once you get back, I am in iRAQ right now, I miss my car and my R1.

I've got a 335xi e90. I'm thinking about getting the m3 replica's off of your site and eventually getting the KW v3 coilovers. Anything I should know about that setup or does it seem kinda no brainier. How much heavier are the 18" over the 19"?

@IBCLUELESS:

Those are nice wheels! I have a 328xi with stock 16s and have been looking for a new set of wheels for a while. May I ask where you got them and what tires you have on them? If you have specific sizes that would be great. Also, did you have to do any mods to the car to make the 19s fit correctly? I'm am a complete noob when it comes to this stuff.

Thanks for your help!

I bought them from EAS and I didn't have to do any mods to make them fit. Those are V710s in Gunmetal on my car. The wheels and tires spec are on their website. Check it out.

There is nothing wrong with dropping an xi! I have no problems whatsoever with mine and I just did H&R Sports! I will swap struts when they blow, if they do! Please do not do rims without a drop, it will look like a 4X4 unless you have a sport package ( i ) series, which you do not.
