Passenger mirror stopped working

So I got told earlier this week that my brothers E90 (09 328) is passenger mirror tilt down stopped working. Digging in none of the power mirror functions work and it doesn't adjust(its a non folding mirror) but I am unsure about the heated part as its summer.

I checked the fuses and they're all fine, also swapped the mirror motors with 2 spares and nothing. Is there anything I can possibly be overlooking?

Nope with the switch to the passenger side it still does nothing.

Scanned it with a schwaben and got a '9CC4' code: Communication disturbed with passenger side mirror in the FRM section. Now that makes sense.

I reset the FRM and that changed nothing so my guess is now down to wiring somewhere.

Dumb question: Did you clean the wiring connections for the mirror? This is a common issue on older 3 series.

You mean connection to the motor/glass or the connector behind the door panel?

I've thought about checking that next and then seeing if I'm getting power there even. Just have to get some time to get the door panel off

The connection from the wire to the motor, behind the glass. It gets water in the connection (bad factory design). Most guys unplug it, add a f**k ton of dielectric grease, and it fixes it. My passenger mirror has been acting a fool as well That's the most common fix. Maybe it helps.

Ya I did check that; I pulled off the glass and swapped 2 other motors to see if it was bad. Sadly no difference

So was driving his car again and the Autodim rear view also doesn't work anymore (both of these features were factory with the car)

His car is an 09 (11/08 build) so it has the latest fuse box style. I checked 63 and 66 (the ones that match up with passenger mirror) again and they still look good. Is there another fuse I happen to be missing?

when you swap motor be sure you swap version with LIN bus
because versions with memory require LIN bus
same goes for folding and autodim mirrors

Yes the car pas power/mem seats; I cannot remember what car I grabbed the spare motors from.

So any car that has memory (LIN) will have a different motor than non-mem correct? I guess Ill try to source another motor and check.

The mirror is just heated + shadowline; Not folding or autodim side mirrors

Not yet, Its either a fault in the wiring or FRM; but haven't had the spare time to deal with it
