335i owners - "thump" noise when braking

Anyone getting a thump noise when they brake and again when they accelerate quickly. Seems to be coming from the RHS undercarriage. It's a single "thump" just about when the car is stopped, then if you accelerate quickly it happens again. I've removed everything from the boot.

I was getting that "thump" noise too but then I realised it was my wife's head hitting the headrest when I was accelerating the dash when braking.

Hmmm…..in your case could it be the brake function (that holds you car still when on a hill) not activating/deactivating properly. Or maybe a suspension noise.

Cheers.

Is the car standard, or modified exhaust or suspension?

I heard a strange thump noise from the right hand rear the other day come just as I started to accelerate. Hasn't happened again so I'm not concerned at this stage but it's just as Graham reported. It might not be exclusive to the 335.

Could it possibly be due to the jack not being secured properly? (the e90/2's still come with these don't they?)
