Should I disconnect the battery when installing new HID bulds?

I'm changing my factory HID bulds to 10000k. Anyone knows if I should disconnect the battery. And if I do will I have to bring the car to BMW to reset the computer?

I disconnected my battery last weekend for the whole weekend. I had to take it to the dealer to get the emergency battery disconnect monster replaced, but not to reset the computer.

If you're just replacing the bulBs, then I can't see why you'd need to disconnect the battery (unless you plan on licking the socket, maybe). If you're getting into actually rewiring something, it would be safer in terms of a short, though . . .

Didn't you just blow up one headlight assembly trying to install cheap junk? Why are you trying again?

In addition, why in the world do you want to decrease your visibility by installing ugly, illegal bulbs?

I'd unhook it to be safe. But then again, I'd also sell the 10,000k bulbs to a honda driver.

I'm trying again because I can. If I don't like the way they look I'll get lower ones. no biggie. I asked for advise not opinion.

you dont need to disconnect your battery but i would recommend getting 6k HID bulbs and not 10k for visibility
