That's better then. What are the maps like? NBT style nav?

I haven't had a chance to go through all features (i'm still installing everything) but from what i saw, it comes with the navigation app called 'Sygic' and Google maps. No NBT like navigation

I can post pictures later if anyone wants to see them?

Yeah be interesting to see. Google maps should look pretty good on the idrive screen.

Would love to see a video review so we can see how the sat nav works in the UK. Ever since the iOS 10 update my iPhones don't work well with CCC iDrive. So thinking this head unit could help with that.

Managed to get Android WiFi working. In landscape it doesn't take up the full space for some reason but I don't mind it. Here are some pictures of it..

Looks great. Was the installation as straightforward as it looks? I will be in the States next week, I might see if I can get one shipped to my US address.

Wiring is the hardest part of it. Rest is plug and play

Sorry I meant routing all the wires is the most time consuming. Everything is plug and play.

I've managed to fit everything including reverse camera. So far its great!

Would be great to see some pics or a video mate. Sounds like a good upgrade but a decent price too.

:: Edit :: Found this video, is yours the same

Yeah sure. Anything specific you'd like to see?

Yep that's exactly the same system as mine.

I think that video covers a lot. What does the Car menu actually show? Have you managed to put the usb inside the glove box?

Overall you must be pleased with it compared to CCC? Looks a lot fresher.

If you mean the "Car Info" menu, this takes ya back to your CCC menu which is useless lol

Yes I managed to put the USB in glove box. The system has 2 USB ports which is useful. I've even tried to use my 1TB portable hard drive without issues.

So far i think it's great! It feels much fresher now

Compared to the CCC, this is miles better. The screen feels HD instead of an old CRT like display. I picked this over the CIC because of the price and the added functionality of being able to play music and videos via USB, android apps and Google Maps.

I've attached a picture of the "Dashboard" Menu which has potential but it only shows speed in kph and the gauges don't move.

Hope this answers some questions people might have

Sounds like a great upgrade for the money. Is it still easy enough to access FM radio?

Possibly a stupid question, but other than the dashboard fitment, does this require an existing CCC/CIC unit, or does the one being discussed operate in a standalone fashion?

So I just did my ccc to cic. I also just priced out this version with all options. Comes to about 750$. I paid about 750$ for my cic retrofit. Do all features work after? Such as control messeges? Does it use your phone's internet for maps?

Apparently it works with Apple CarPlay, would love to see a video demo of that.

Yes but you will have to use your CCC Menu for that. I use apps for radio now such as TuneIn Radio.

Yes it requires CCC/CIC, this works by using your AUX input and is an additional function to your current system. You retain all functionality of the CCC/CIC and can switch over with a single button.

I paid $469.99 for the system. Yes all features work as this is an additional system your existing CCC/CIC. For the sygic app you do not need internet and for Google Maps you do.

Sorry I never looked into this as I have a Samsung phone. I believe you need an additional Apple CarPlay adapter which they sell.

Co-Pilot is a sat nav app the stores all map data offline, and extras include live traffic updates. Used to have it on ipad car install I did some years back.
