CCC to CIC upgrade

I just acquired a CIC and combox (both made in 10/2020) that I want to retrofit into my 330i. My 330 has CCC iDrive, Logic 7, and Bluetooth (for phone calls). I just want the higher resolution screen and direct Bluetooth streaming audio. I've been reading ALL of the numerous posts about this conversion but it seems that not everything is always up to date, so I have some questions.

I don't yet have the new connectors I need for the CIC and the combox but they should arrive this week. I also need to find a new trim piece since mine is the older style with two separate small cut outs for the CCC CD and DVD slots.

Do I still need the MOST loop terminator? Are there any other connectors or anything else that I need? I know there are a lot of expensive harnesses that used to be available but I have no problem repinning connectors.

I have the USB cable and port (for CIC unit to glove box). I don't care to add the USB port under the armrest as I have no use for it. I would like to eventually add the OEM backup camera.

Been reading a bit and answered most of my questions, but now have some coding questions before I start this work.

My car has Bluetooth with TCU in the rear but there's no MULF. There is a wrapped up harness with two coax connectors on a single plug and an unterminated fiber MOST connector, which I'm assuming is disconnected at the MOST hub.

My car has Logic 7 and the donor car from which I sourced the CIC and Combox had the HiFi sound. Do I need to do any special coding or will default coding of the CIC from my VO handle that?

I would like to retain the aux input port in my center console (no USB). I'm assuming that's currently connected to my current CCC in the dash. Is there any special coding to get that to work or does that again get handled by the default CIC coding based on my VO?

These CIC systems are much cheaper now than they were 3+ years ago. eBay has a few deals now for around $300 including the screen, CIC, and combox.

I'm doing more reading and answering my own questions. The coding section has a few posts about what options to add or remove. I may need to find someone locally with an ICOM to update my CIC unit.

I followed doublespaces wiring guide there to replace my TCU/MULF with a combox and it all worked when I did mine.

I recommend you do the CIC upgrade first. It will work with the TCU. Get all your CIC retrofit coding and the like done, then move onto the combox retrofit.

That's how I did my upgrade.
The CIC will get reconfigured for your logic 7 when you default code it.
You may have to upgrade your amp firmware to work with new CIC. I did in my late 07 built e91 with logic 7.

honestly the biggest pain about the retrofit was finding a copy of fstools that worked properly so I could "amend" the certificates in the CIC for my VIN.

edit:
of course the e90post nannies can't have us linking to other places with information.

also, you don't NEED to build a harness.
IF you move the combox over in the mount you can directly pin the factory harness into the new connectors and it will fit.

I'm scrapping the conversion. I just connected it to test if everything works and discovered a thin crack on the screen. In addition the screen is all red when powering the system on. Everything is going back for a refund (CIC, display, and combox.)
