Coding near Sarasota FL for Bluetooth issue?
On my 2008 328i sedan there is a Harman Becker Bluetooth Handsfree Carkit MULF2-HI unit in the trunk and a BMW Professional Radio in the car but when I press the Menu button the Telephone option does not show up as a choice.
I checked the Fuses, disconnected the cables from the MULF2 for an hour and still no luck. I am going to disconnect the battery for an hour to see if that helps. If not, I read that it might need re-coding? Any BMW coders in the Sarasota FL area that I might contact that know the Bluetooth?? Hate to bring it to the dealer for this. |

you need to disconnect all power(54-pin) and MOST cable from MULF, then connect only 54-pin and see if mulf emits red light from MOST socket

Ok, I did that and when I plug in just the 54-pin cable the MOST socket does have a red light for about 5 seconds then it turns off. Does that mean its good and it just needs coding? Should I try unplugging battery for an hour to see if that brings back telephone choice when pressing menu button?

the you need to check if red light comes sometime from MOST jack which is connected to MULF
you can close car with disconnected MOST jack, let it sleep for 15 min, then open and check

ok did that and after closing the car for a half hour and opening back up the MOST port on the MULF does have the red light come on. It blinks a few times then stays lit.

First, thanks for all your help so far. Not sure what to do from here. I have the same model MULF2 lined up to buy so I can swap it out if you think my existing one is bad...

sorry, i've used incorrect word "jack" instead of "plug"
in the second test you should look for the red light from plug which is connected to MOST jack on MULF after that we can suppose if MOST ring is operational and HU can talk with MULF and MULF can talk to HU

you've used that option for some time and one day it disappeared ? you've bought car and it was with that problem ? because i haven't heard that MULF forgot its config, but he can die the professional radio also didn't had such issues business radio is not installed in US

yes, bluetooth antenna and if MULF2 is MULF2 HIGH version, than HSD(sort of car USB) cable should be connected to other side

From what I read all I have to do after installing the mic and antenna is use NCS to select E89 for the Chassis then add $644 in VO to CAS and NFRM. Then run SG_CODIEREN to the module 2URAD to reset the radio output to match with the car setting. Does that sound about right?

yep, you'll need to code RAD and ULF module with $644 option

When I run SG_CODIEREN to the module 2URAD to reset the radio output to match with the car setting it fails, I'm being told you need an Icom to reset 2URAD.
However, someone in another forum said I can just add $644 to MULF and 2URAD VOs with the DCAN KCAN cable I have. Does that make sense and do you know how that would be different then getting someone to reset 2URAD with an ICOM?
