Alignment Q's for those who are lowered
For those that have lowered their cars -- Are you running camber/caster plates in the front, or did the front end have enough adjustment to get your car back into specs.
I'm looking at my printout for what specs my car was aligned to and the front is all out of whack, and the shop I took it to said it was the best they could do. Here is the break down: Left Side camber: -.75 specified range: -.63 to .03 toe -.22 .03 to .20 Right Side camber: -.67 specified range: same as above toe: .43 those aren't even close. I'm not sure if it was one of those laser alignment jobs, or someone who actually had a clue knew what they were doing. I'm already pissed for a lot of other issues I had, and am not really wanting to spend another $500 if not necessary. I talked to the guys at KW and they told me so long as I am lowered within their tolerances, I should be good. I am lowered within that range. So, anyone else have problems with their front end alignment? Anyone running caster/camber plates to fix it? Any input would be appreciated. |

theres no adjustments for camber in the front without camber plates. Just lowered i was running about -.9 and -1 degrees in the front. The lower u go the more camber u get from the suspension. Your left side is just barely lower.
The major issue here though is toe. Thats just wack. They basically didnt align the front of ur car... -.22 and .43 are totaly out of spec and you will have abnormal tire wear... Theres adjustments that are quite simple on our cars to dial in toe correctly. Heck with your current specs the car should veer to the left. |

^^ As odd as it seems, it pulls right. That was my initial complaint when I had them do it a second and then a third time. This was the end result. I'm working with another shop to get it redone correctly, but it's a pain in the ass to keep dropping money on it. Also, my steering wheel does not set straight up and down, it's actually turned a bit to the left when going in a straight line.
I don't mind negative camber, and yes, I agree it's close on both sides, but the toe is my major issue. So there is enough adjustment with the stock setup to correct this amount of toe to put it back in specs? |
