Is it bad to have springs only?
I'm looking to lower my car a bit with the H&R sport springs and I was wondering if it's okay to just get the springs and leave everything else stock. I have a 2008 e90 335i with the sport suspension. And also, if there are anything I should worry about if I only got springs, please let me know. Any help is appreciated!

How much quicker are we talking about? and what about the eibach pro-kit? I heard those can be handled by the stock shocks but Im not too sure

With the H&Rs (which I have had with stock shocks) the ride will bounce a lot and overall performance will suffer.

Exactly right. Honestly, if it's a lease or you aren't going to keep the car past 50-70k miles, you will be fine. Just realize that the stock shocks will wear out sooner with the harsher spring rate so we recommend replacing both the shocks and springs at the same time to save on labor.

i don't think I will be keeping the car past the regular warranty miles so I might be fine? What about the eibach pro-kit? I heard they're much less harsh on the stock shocks than the H&R sports

Just changing out springs will cost you in the long run if you are paying someone to install them because before you know it the OEM shocks will blow and then you have to pay again!

I have the eibachs and have been lowered on them for a little over 10k on the stock shocks. Car still drives and feels fine, eibachs are not an aggressive drop.

Depends on the drop, depends on the shock. I've seen a car ride on aftermarket springs and oem shocks for 30+ thousand miles... I've also seen a car last about 3 months. People have been experiencing the former on these cars though. You should be fine.

At this point, it is mostly speculation as to how long the stock shocks will last with the H&R sports.
There will always be the pessimistic claims that no car should be lowered on just springs. However there are instances (repeatable and consistently provable) that aftermarket springs can work past 70-80k on stock shocks. It all depends on how you drive, where you live, condition of the roads etc..
