Anyone sold a car you loved, than years later bought it back?

Just for sake of conversation, I'm wondering if anybody on here sold a car to someone, than later on in life bought it back..??

I sold my fully built and boosted 00' Civic SI and used that money as a down payment on my E92... Well almost three years later and several hours away, the new owner texted me out of the blue to see if I'd be interested in buying it back as he is buying a new car now.. Thought it was kind of cool to have the opportunity of owning my previous garage queen and just figured I'd see if anyone else has been in that situation before..

Later!

No. At least not yet!

I tried to buy my 2004 Porsche GT3 back from the $$$ guy I sold it too, but learned from his wife that he had wrapped it around a wooden power pole just a couple of blocks from their house. She also told she didn't like the car as it never started (I guess he forgot about the battery tender) and always scraped and tore off the airdam in their driveway.

I've wanted to a few times but never have. I've had some cars that I've really enjoyed over the years and would love to have a few of them back.

Sort of. I sold my A8L to a friend of mine, they had an emergency soon after and needed money so I told him I'd buy the car back.

There was a good story posted here awhile ago of a guy who lost his 128 in a divorce and later tracked it down after she sold it and he bought it back and she was so pissed off.

I sold a car years ago and now greatly regret it.

I just wanted it out of my hair and sold it to a friend for a good deal. He ended up selling it and now it's probably crashed or stolen.

I saw one parked in a parking garage and almost left a note on it seeing if the owner would sell it.

Sold my first VW Scirocco for low money because I havent enough that day for the upcoming repairs. Years later I had really regret it, a car into that shape with that age was absolutely unique and nothing beats a real "Rocco".

Yes. Sold an 87 bmw 325is 5 speed for a ridiculously low price because I wasn't driving it enough (rarely ever and had to pay insurance on it). I had another, new car that I was driving. Looking back, I really should have hanged on to it. It was a fun car and I miss it.

nothing worse than watching something that you took such great care of get completely wrecked due to neglect...

I had a 1988 RX7 convertible that I pampered and loved and was MINT when I sold it. The owner called about 3 years later and was selling it. I bought it back, it was in decent but not perfect condition. I spent weeks getting it's shine back, fixing a few things but it just never had the same "special feeling" to me again, and I sold it in less than a year.

I'll never do that again, once they are gone, they are gone for me.

I did a 1990 coupe that I swapped a redtop into along with a Silvia front. Awesome car, 1.04 g and 11.5's on radials just as a daily drove it. One of the ones I miss...

What year model? I had an 07 and it was a fabulous car. We did have a weird issue with the passenger headlight coming and going, took them three tries but they finally were able to fix it under warranty. It had over 200k miles when I sold it.
